The week's first injury report

at 10:58 AM 1/3/07

It turns out that the groin injury believed to be affecting WR D.J. Hackett isn't the reason he is questionable this week. It's a right hip flexor. This is one guy the Seahawks MUST have. Has not practice this week.

Other wounded Seahawks: CB Marcus Trufant (right ankle) is doubtful.

G Chris Gray (right quadriceps), LB Leroy Hill (concussion), WR Darrell Jackson (toe on left foot) and LG Floyd Womack (groin) are questionable. None have practiced this week.

DT Rocky Bernard (right foot) and WR Nate Burleson (left ankle) are probable.

Of course cornerbacks Ken Hamlin and Jimmy Williams were put on injured reserve.

Mike Holgram mentioned in his PC that Thursday he hoped that Hackett and Jackson are able to practice. He also expect Chris Gray, Hill, and Womack to play but will be game time decisions on Saturday.
He doubts if Hackett or Jackson will play if they are unable to practice on Thursday.

Wow this Seattle team is really beat up and they will have to tough it out with so many players out. On offense they will be without their leading receiver in Jackson ( hasnt played in three weeks with that turf toe) or Hacket, who has actually become their best receiver since Branch has not proven to be worth the number one draft pick they gave up.

Womack and Chris Gray are starters on their offensive line.

On defense we know they will be without three of their four corners!

I already liked the matchup but do you think we can take advantage of these injuries?

Something is wrong with this report.
Even I know Ken Hamlin is a SAFETY...not a corner...I think you meant 'of course Kelly Herndon..." etc.
Herndon, not Hamlin, had a broken ankle in Tampa Bay.

Ask yourself which team you'd rather face - a Seattle team that has the same record as we do (albeit beat up) or the worst team in the league, who just beat us at home.

Seriously, if we lose to Seattle it will be the end of the most disappointing season I can recall, with the possible exception of '94 which was Switzer's first season when we lost to the 9ers and missed out on 4 rings in a row...

I think when teams try too hard to take advantage of injuries that they can take themselves out of a good gameplan.

We are designed to be a ball control offense. We need to run the ball 30 times in this game to win. It is cold and very wet in Seattle right now. That does not scream "air it out." We'll see the same gameplan we've had in the past. However, we'll likely be able to execute far better in the passing game as TO and Glenn should get some very wide open looks.

This is all fun news, but could we please get rid of:

Walter Jones
Shaun Alexander
Matt Hasselbeck
Seneca Wallace
Tatupu

?

We were in a dead heat with O linemen off the street on Sunday.
If these Seattle guys are breathing, they're dangerous.

Forget their injuries.

How do we stop their 4 WR spread offense when we havent stopped any passing game.

the giants were limping just as bad and we barely beat them (which at this point i would gladly take). me thinks it'll be a close game. it's the playoffs. players tend to "get well" for the playoffs.
