Boykin is on the small side and best over the slot but he has great instincts for the INT and is a very good returner. If forced to sign only one FA corner, would choose Chris Culliver but Boykin would add an interesting element to current CB corps.

I wouldn't mind signing him to a reasonable 1 year deal, our cb depth is unproven to say the least.

Signing him or Hall would be ideal. We could use a good slot CB.

Cowboy don't like CBs under 5-10. Scandrick is the smallest they have and he's a strong run support guy despite his size.

Combine numbers:

Deji Olatoye 6012 198
Brandon Carr 6001 207
Arjen Colquhoun 6003 188
Terrance Mitchell 5111 192
Morris Claiborne 5111 188
Brandon Mcgee 5110 193
Jeremiah McKinnon 5110 190
Josh Thomas 5102 191
Orlando Scandrick 5100 192

Boykin 5094 182

Why oh why do people want to keep bringing in other people's refuge and trash. He just got released from
the 2nd team in 3 months. There must be some reason why he can't stick. Why not just develop the
7 guys we have on our team now and see if we can make some hay from our homegrown stock. Geez...

I don't mind the team's timid approach in regards to free agency but now we are at the point where we should be looking for competition accross our roster.

I want Morris Claiborne, Kellen Moore and Barry Church to fight for their roster spot. At this point, Devin Street probably makes the team if he shows a little improvement, that should not be, we need more competition to bring out the best in players.

Why did Miles Austin and even Tony Romo turn into starters for us? It's because nothing was handed to them their first couple years in the league, they had to earn their roster spot.

Brandon Boykin reminds me of our own Scandrick. I remember wanting to draft him and he went to the eagles. Well, he played well against us and is known as a good slot corner that can also play outside.

However, 3 teams in what is it 4 years? It might not even have to do with his skills but his eccentric personality. Read an article sometime ago that suggested it. We all know about attitudes and personalities. We have a lot of them here in Dallas and we may just be able to temper the guy down with Dez and Scandrick as our most intense personalities. Let's bring him in.

Any word why he was released in the same offseason he was signed with the panthers?

Yup....makes little sense. But the Panthers did draft a bunch of kids. Panthers have been doing some screwy things @ the DB position all off season. First by releasing Norman....and now this. Sounds like the they are unsure what they are doing.

This could be a real find..and an opportunity to pounce.

Like boykin alot put him at cb1 and carr at cb2 and let scandrick cover the slot. I'm still not sure about carr's talent to this date...I never hear his name during games,i'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing...Would love a combo of boykin and scandrick on this team.

Think I would give McGee, McKinnon and Thomas' spots to Boykin. Heck I would give Boykin their combined salaries too if possible. Boykin is not just a slot guy, he is a playmaker - after the INT (has good hands and instincts for picks) AND in the return game.

Again, would rather have Chris Culliver (bigger, faster, better upside and he plays outside) but I would sign Boykin over those 3 guys I just mentioned.
