With Diggs potentially returning on Thursday night, if he is close to 100%, our D can possibly take another step forward.

With Diggs and Revel/Carson on the outside, Bland can come back to the slot where he plays his best ball, and Reddy can be shifted to a backup/Dime CB role.

If Flus continues to increase man coverage snaps, the blown assignments and big plays down the field would be mitigated.

This DL is putting teams behind the chains on early downs, and getting solid pressure on the passer.

IF Diggs is healthy and ready to contribute (BIG “if” for sure)— then this D may still be evolving and could be set to peak at the most critical point in the season.

Yeah. I'm hoping we get a healthy Diggs. But, more importantly, a Diggs that goes all out!! Let's see which one will show up.

I think I'm worried that if diggs comes back this defense might potentially take a step back. With his most recent play being an issue. I'm not sure whether or not the injury had something to do with it but it also seemed like an effort issue.

I'm worried it will be subtraction by addition ala Murray.

we really do not know which Diggs we will be getting

so its a question

actually our CB room is pretty good; Revel is showing a lot more than anyone should have reasonably expected of someone with basically no offseason and camp being tossed into the most critical part of the season
Bland needs to maintain; Diggs needs to return to form; Cason needs to be consistent but overall its a group good enough to win with
our biggest problem as it has been for like 20 years is Safety
we need two much better starters and above all a real FS

I’m in the camp that if Diggs comes back he will give great effort and play well because the team has shown markedly better performance. I believe he wants in on this last third of the season.

Diggs will not be an upgrade from what we have seen the past couple of weeks. He got burned repeatedly early in the year.

I just can't see him helping - hope I am wrong!

Are we getting Dr Jekyll or Mr Hyde is really the question?

Current events point to him being a liability. Fingers crossed he's coming to ball.
It is in his best interest to ball out. He knows he is on his last stint in Dallas.

The better he plays, the better the contract he can secure with a new team going forward

You'd hope that with the improved pressure we'd get our INTs back up with Diggs, Bland, and big Revel out there ranging.

Revel has looked good and Carson has been solid. We don’t “need” Diggs like we did earlier in the year.

Hopefully the time off has let him rest and get right. If he comes back balling, then we can reposition Bland to the nickel

But if he comes back and struggles, then we just keep on with what we have been doing and move on in the offseason

Dallas has 100% of the leverage on Diggs now. He only hurts himself if his play tanks because we can just bench him and IR him for the rest of the year

Like everyone else, I’m hoping Diggs is back to being what he was two seasons ago.

Is that likely? Probably not. Two knee surgeries and a drop in confidence makes it a challenge for him.

What I think the Cowboys are doing is showcasing him in hopes for a trade in the off-season. With those knee surgeries and his bulky contract, that is not likely.

I believe the most likely outcome for Diggs is him being a designated June 1 cut. Saves cap space for a team looking to sign a pricey guy like Pickens and maybe others. Diggs is on his last legs here in Big D no matter what.

Yep. But he has millions and millions of dollars on the line for his next deal to play his best ball.

If he doesn’t— we IR him and move on next year and he gets a steep reduction in pay and probably lands a “prove it” deal somewhere where a team is desperate and willing to give him a second chance

I can definitely see this as a possible outcome
