Man, I bet Diggs is on a shorter leash this time. Jerry's already turned salty on him, and we're building a new post-Parsons identity.
But Diggs would be a fool not to be pumped about stepping on field with big QW, Overshown, and the guys that came back being down 21-0 against Philly during prime time.
Shotty's a "player's coach", but he's also kept it real on the "building a new culture" talk:
- co-signed the sketchy Parsons trade that could have lead to disaster
- cleaning house of guys that aren't living up to the Star standard (Elam, Clark)
- asking for accountability (Pickens & CD benching, making Blue ride pine for maturity issues)
- churning roster to get the top playmakers on field opposed to Garrett-era ineptitude (Flournoy jumping rank on Tolbert mid season, modifying defensive front around our new DT room talent).
- reinforcing culrture without making it personal (Pickens and Lamb responded positively to their benching, and then lit the Raiders up, Scotty never player hated anyone or said anything divisive about the guys that got disaplined or flat out released)
If Diggs doesn't want to play hard with the studs that have been out there since the bye, he'll ride pine.
We've got new leaders on both sides of the ball ball now. Diggs know's he's not one of them. He sees the bar's been raised.
So, let's just hope he's pumped to contribute. The entire league's got their eye on how this plays out for a number of reasons.
