Senior Bowl Thread

It will be interesting to see his official measurements at the combine because Miller looks more like he is 225-230.
I bet he will come in around 245ish.

Reminds me of Roscoe Parrish. I like the other WR from Boise though.

I like the white kid from Ohio State as a slot guy.

Titus Young looks like a human noodle.

Solder showing why I wouldn't touch him.

I've been perplexed by all the hype he's been getting this week. I didn't see it when he played against Nebraska, and they do NOT have a DE that's worth a damn. I didn't see it in the drills either.

Hopefully Miller weighs in around 245 so all the naysayers can ****.

I am actually all for us taking him now, but even if he comes in at 245, the kids is going to need more lower body strength. That doesn't mean he won't play and make plays though.

You gotta think about this too..

We play in a dome and we're going to get in a lot of track meets playing in that stadium.

It never hurts to add more speed.

Plus if the guy can drop into coverage like everyone claims than that would be extremely valuable to this teammbecause we lack that.

Herzlich reminds me so much of Brian Urlacher, he's gonna be a monster in the NFL.

I agree he needs more lower body strength, but people use his weight as the end all be all as to why he won't be a 34 OLB. At least if he weighs in at 245-250, people could stop using that excuse.

Although when he does weigh in at 245, people will just say he doesn't have the lower body strength to be a OLB in a 34. It's a lose lose lose situation with this guy, apparently...

Yeah, I hear you. The kid is a playmaker, period. If we have a shot and the two CB's are gone, we have to take him.

Well supposedly our 3-4 won't be as standard as it has been. It will be more like The Packets 3-4.

Plus reports say Ryan preffers 3 OLBs.

Add to that you can play Miller just about anywhere and I think you got an intriguing player for Dallas to look at.

If he can cause disruption than I'm all for it.

That's actually a good point.

Plus, I think with Millers frame, he can put on 10-15 pounds and not lose speed.

Is he good dropping into coverage? I don't know much about him but a few posters said that wasn't his forte. Could he also play ilb?

In case you missed it buried in this thread, Von Miller is a better pass rusher than James Harrison.

That's supposedly a big strength is his ability to cover.

Can he play ILB? I'm not sure. I actually raised this question early in the week.

But from what I hear he is a hybrid in a 3-4 and you can just about put him anywhere.

If he can make plays in the backfield and in the middle of the field in front of our safeties ( something we lack ) than than I'd be all for it.

I just question his ability to be a 3 down OLB in a 3-4. Especially when Ware plays his position.

We have a coordinator who isn't conventional now so it could work.

He could be our Polamalu / Clay Matthews type.

LOL I knew that was gonna get brought up. I decided to leave it alone.

Gimme Von Miller's speed. We need that speed off the edge. If the Colts can make it work with Freeney and Mathis, we can too. This defense will never be Steelers/Ravens/vintage Pats dominant. We play indoors, on a fast track, we're not going to be having low-scoring, grind-it-out games. We need to have a speedy defense that can make plays from sideline to sideline to compliment the offense. If we ever win a Super Bowl, it will be with the offense as the team's identity and with a speedy, playmaking defense that will compliment it (see the 2006 Colts and 2009 Saints)

And Miller can drop back into coverage fine. He's better at it than most 3-4 OLB prospects I have seen in years because a lot of these guys are pure DEs in college who haven't dropped back

If by "specialist" you mean playing nearly every down and rotating different LB positions, then I agree. The kid will be a 3-down player. Book it.

Oh Brother. I said his rookie season, he doesn't have size yet to be 3 down player and last entire season, if I have to be more specific. You can book all you want, until he plays at that weight entire season and last without injuries or being overrun by big LT/RT in NFL, then we can say I was wrong.

Obviously, just in case I need to be more specific, if he bulks up a bit and doesn't lose his speed etc. he probably will be probowl type LB or looks like he might be one anyway.

Then you weren't watching. The last month everyone had Ware shooting up the board and thought he had all the tools.

I was. But Mayock was the first to say it, way before the draft, pretty much I think right after Senior Bowl or around Combine time. Shooting up draft board is one thing, but almost guaranteeing he would be real good player in NFL is entirely different.
