http://forum.jaguars.com/lofiversion/index.php?t664431.htmlSensabaugh had a solid season, but he's likely to receive a higher offer in the open market than the Jaguars are willing to pay him.

I maintain that Sensabaugh MUST be resigned

another great game by him... came up and made tackles in the box rather than downfield, showed good angles and speed to the play. No coverage breakdowns from what I could tell, and I think dropped that pick late in the game to allow reggie to get it later lol.

he is everywhere... him and nelson would make a great young safety duo

I'm hoping the team manages to re-sign him before he has a chance to his free agency. He's one of the few players on defense that's truly been playing hard every week, and he's finally understanding his role well. Prior to this season he was a questionmark because he was constantly out of position, but it appears he finally gets it. He's always had the speed and the hitting ability, but lately he's truly been a factor in the outcome of games. If the front office would have to be inept to let him depart at this point in his development with the team

I've said this in previous threads about Gerald, IMO it would be insane to let your young SS who you have groomed for 3 years to be the kind of players he has become this year, and he has no become a VERY good SS and I love how he plays, and he's only 25 right now, there are only positives with Gerald. You cannot just let one of your young players that is the caliber of Gerald just walk away

I hope this write up is accurate. If so, our safeties have a chance to be a team strength instead of a weakness we continuously have to cover up or try and hide.

This may have been a much underrated pick-up this off season. I hope he is everything that the writer above mentions and more.

Plus he is still young which is a huge plus.

I can't wait for the season to start.

Crazy Cowboy as a voice of reason?!
The sky is falling! The sky is falling!!! ;)

Having said that, I'm very optimistic about Sensabaugh. Our SS play was as bad as it gets last year. Even if he's average, he'll will be a big upgrade (and I think he'll be above average).

I agree BIGDen, we have nowhere to go but up from the SS position.:star:

I've read similar praise from Jags fans regarding Sensabaugh. So this is more of the same.

As long as he's able to learn our system well enough to fit in, he'll be a major upgrade at SS for us.

I like the way this Sensabaugh situation is playing out. So much different from previous off seasons.

This dude gets little very little attention and when he gets its, its all good news.

I loved Roy but he got a lot of publicity and a lot of it was either him or the coaches making some sort of defense for the guy.

I am pretty sure there are character conerns with this guy, I hope he has his head on straight.

Jacksonville wouldn't let a good player walk if there wasn't a red flag or two.

What makes you say that? Did you read something negative?

I read that Campo knows/loves his character .........

Kingsport's NFL star, Gerald Sensabaugh, arrested for driving on suspended license

By Kacie Breeding

Published February 17th, 2009

On Friday, Jacksonville Jaguars safety Gerald Sensabaugh Jr., a Kingsport native, was arrested for driving on a suspended license.
At about 1:41 p.m., Kingsport Police Officer Amanda Lunsford said she saw a black Bentley drive west on Center Street, turn onto Dale Street and circle the block.
Suspicious of a Bentley in the vicinity of Kingsport's public housing, the officer said she ran the tag and found the car was registered to Sensabaugh. The Bentley pulled up outside Crew Cut Barber Shop, 806 E. Center St., and Sensabaugh went inside.
Lunsford then checked Sensabaugh's driver license and discovered he'd been suspended for "multiple violations" and failure to satisfy a citation.
He has a history of speeding, she said, which could have resulted in a suspension due to the points accumulated on his license -- although she added that his failure to satisfy a citation alone could have been what led to the suspension.
Lunsford then went into the shop and arrested Sensabaugh on a charge of driving on a suspended license.
Sensabaugh reportedly was allowed to finish getting a haircut before he was taken into custody.
This marks the second time in less than two years that Sensabaugh has been arrested by Kingsport Police.
In March 2007, Kingsport police stopped Sensabaugh after radar clocked his 2006 BMW at 84 in a 55 mph zone on East Stone Drive. During that stop, Sensabaugh was arrested after an officer recovered a loaded Springfield 9 mm pistol from the car's console. He was charged with failure to obtain a carry permit for the weapon -- a misdemeanor.
Guns were found in Sensabaugh's possession during Friday's arrest as well. According to police, he had a Bersa 380, an International Arms AK-47 and a Glock 22 in the car.
But jail officials say this time Sensabaugh was not charged for having guns in his car.
According to Lunsford, he had a carry permit this time.
Sensabaugh, selected in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft, is coming off the best season of his career. He started 13 games in 2008, tallying 70 tackles, eight passes defended and four interceptions.
His initial contract with the Jaguars is set to expire, and it's suspected Jacksonville may let Sensabaugh test his worth to other teams in free agency.

I look forward to seeing Sensabaugh roaming around in our secondary. While he may not make many highlights on "Jacked Up" he does a good job of tackling and has very good cover skills.

Driving on a suspended and speeding aren't things I consider to be character issues.

Guess he had a permit for the guns and while I think he should have probably left them at home given the state of his drivers license, you can't really knock him for much else.

His small issues are not that bad...they're certainly not something to just wave a hand at, but driving on a suspended license to go get a haircut is not that bad.

He wasn't in a skrip club with $40,000 in $1s making it rain :lmao2:

I may be a left wing tree hugger but I don't see any reason for anyone in the states to own an AK-47.

That is the part that makes me most nervous.

Driving on a suspended license and owning firearms are not what I'd consider serious "character" issues. So the guy owns firearms. So do I. So do millions of other Americans. Whooptie do. At least he learned from his first mistake and got a carry permit.

Well in your defense, Roy WAS one of the greatest 4 years ago. I just watched some highlights from the 05 season and Roy was still laying the lumber back then.
