What if Julius is gone next year do you think Tyson can step in and produce?

With Cleveland playing well McFadden seems out of reach and I think we have a far bigger need at CB/WR.

Thoughts?

I've seen nothing of Tyson that impressed me.

Cleveland isn't done sucking yet............;)

Frankly, a big refrigerator NT/blue chip corner are bigger needs. I just don't think giving McFadden $30m in guaranteed money is even worth it.

I think we pick up a more capable speed back who can catch real well out of the back field. You sign Barber to a nice fat one, not too fat, and pick up a really good back in the 2nd round.

We need 3 things IMO. WR/CB/RB since JJ will be leaving, presumably. On a lessor scale, we need NT (maybe, maybe not since Ratliff is doing a fine job and Fergy will be back next year, not to mention Tank is rolling in)

I'd personally like to see us get the next big WR to go with Romo, and a corner - Tackle to take over for Flo in a year or 2 - We're running out of positions of need, wow.

Everyone is so quick to assume that JJ leaves.

Who's going to sign him? Who's going to offer Julius Jones big money to come play for them?

Julius' warts are as clear to other teams as they are to us, the fans. And it's not as though Dallas has crap for an OL this year. What team is going to pony up to the bar and offer Julius such big money that we can't afford to re-sign him as our RB2?

Now we very well may not want him back, but don't assume that Julius is going to enter FA and get big money....I can't see anyone offering the guy a fat contract.

I wish JJ would just take an average deal, and put his ego in check and let Barber do his thing and just support him. That would be a great scenario in my eyes.

Great scenarios don't happen when money is involved

If we don't get McFadden, it isn't the end of the world. There is always Slaton, Stewart, Hart, Choice, etc. McFadden may be the Fillet Mignon of RB prospects in the 2008 draft, but that doesn't mean he will be a prime cut for whatever team drafts him.....he may turn out to be just plain ole ground beef.

Ideally, I would like to get a top 3 pick, then trade down to about 10 and add a 2nd and 5th or 6th....

Then we can get 5 first day players and fill some of these positions (CB, WR, DT, ILB, OT, RB)

I can think of a lot of things worse than having Julius and Barber back again next season.

These are the teams that should at least talk about him next year:

Dolphins
Browns
Texans
Titans
Broncos
Bears
Lions
Packers
Falcons
Cardinals

Who knows which of them might pay him more than we would, but I would assume at least 2-3 of them would consider it.

First 1st round pick: Desean Jackson
Second 1st round pick: Ray Rice

If I were Julius I would hope to get picked up by The Broncos. That's the only place I see him being successful.

Broncos would be the best fit, probably. Bears or Packers wouldn't be too bad.

Too early to think draft, IMO. Let's secure the 32nd pick first and then worry about next year.
