Wade Phillips or Garrett. Phillips because his track record isnt god awful like Norvs and he knows what he is doing on the defensive side of the ball.

Garrett because if he is the future of the team, lets get it over with and not waste 2 years bad candidate.

Because Phillips is the only legitimate coach on this list who has a chance of winning games...

We don't need a mentor to mentor a mentor...

Pick One and post your reasons

one for wade phillips.

if we had a proper handle on the 3-4 scheme we def woulda won the East. and quite possibly hadda 1st-round bye.

at minimum Dallas shoulda been playing in the divisional round.

the offense needs some minor tweaking - replace Rivera with some young talent, prepare for life after aging WRs owens and glenn, and get a decent backup plan in place for Tony Romo.

the defense is much more problematic. talent abounds. how to properly utilize it - elusive. stay the 3-4 course. and Cowboys do need another passrusher. more than that they need to develop a much more aggressive version that has us back on our heels less frequently than opponents.

I said Phillips, mostly because Garrett already is on board.

If Turner is hired, he might be able to mentor Garrett, but he also might prevent Garrett from developing his own offensive style. And I doubt Turner would be able to land a defensive coordinator as good as Phillips.

:lmao2: that's a great way to put it

Phillips isn't the greatest option, but he'd make our D into killers.

I'd like to see Turner so we can see how explosive this offense *should* be.

No doubt, I'm wondering how many tunes will be changed when our OL is mauling the defense and our RB's are leading the league in rushing. I can't wait till were able to run the ball down an opponents throat to end a game again!

We need a none of the above, because the two best guys are Rex Ryan and Ron Rivera.

Phillips - We have the perfect defensive parts he needs to succeed. He builds dominant defenses, and that's what wins.

This is well said. Our defense underachieved far more than our offense, and now that Garrett is on board, I don't see the point in basically hiring 2 offensive coordinators. Phillips is the best bet to make our 3-4 as dominant as it should be...and hopefully get our secondary to play up to their potential (except for Terrance Newman, whose last 2 years were as good as any CB in the league). At first, I was wanting a younger coach - or at least a guy with some motivational energy - but if Garrett is being groomed to take over in 5 years or less, then a young coach doesn't really seem best fit for the (temporary) job. Hence, Phillips is the man. If Garrett hadn't been hired yet (the timing of that decision still befuddles me), then I think Ron Rivera and, even, Pete Carroll would've at least been worth an interview.

It's harder to coach offense than it is defense. Turner comes in as the offensive guru and Bowles or one of the position coaches from the Bears, San Diego or Singletary is brought in. Doesn't do any good to have a defensive-minded coach. Parcells showed that.

Meanwhile, in other news around the country, next sunday, two defensive minded coaches are squaring off for the Lombardi Trophy.

I picked Norv... Because with Jerry running things it doesnt matter who the Coaches the team! BP supporters will tell u so...

Since I have been blessed to see my Favorite team win SUPER BOWLS and meet Jimmy Johnson days after he was fired!!! I'm done with the Hard Core fan stuff, I had a helva ride... we all did!

I just wanna see guys I can cheer for when I watch the games... and if Norv can make so we dont have to sign guys like Meyshawn, MeO and Marco Rivera he will be worth his weight in GOLD!!!

Dont get me wrong... I understand the Hard Core fan who wants nothing but the BEST for the Boys and may not think Norv is the right guy.

I say good luck I hope u get what you want!
