He certainly was the better option as Dak will never have Romo’s smarts or field vision, but they went w/ the hot hand as Oline and Zeke were dominant.Romo starting for that team goes further.

Losing O coordinator may sting a little, but he’s too talented not to continue his great play.

Zeke is so disrespected when it comes to that 2016 team.

He won the rushing title by over 300 yards but they are desperate to act like it was all Dak.

Zeke literally carried that team on his back, but QB gets all the credit and awards.Ridiculous.As Parcels would say,”Dak just had to drive the bus.”

I posted this the other day, but Dak wasn't even in the top 15 in passing TDs or yards in 2016.....

Yet they badly want him to be the sole reason for that 2016 team's success.

Hmm, that's interesting because our most successful season with Romo was when they ran the hell out of the ball.. The less he threw it the better chance we had to win.

He just drove the bus while Zeke and Oline did the heavy lifting.

100% bus driver and was still the best version of him we've seen. He's still chasing the ghost of his rookie season 6 years later.

They can't even brag about stats for 2016 because they're not that impressive. Sure, they're good for a rookie, but compared to everyone else they're 100% average except for INTS, but that's because he plays ultra safe. I guess that's one of those "leadership" years. They like to throw out "leadership" when stats don't go in their favor.

Think you missing my point....I guess bottomline I’m saying IF this team gets to a SB it won’t be because of Dak
IF they would’ve gotten to a SB during Romos tenure it would’ve been because of Romo....
    That’s all...

In this thread you said "stats are misleading and only a small piece when it comes to evaluating talent and skill"., yet you brought up a stat to support your biased Dak assessment..

They like him. By they I mean the Jones family. They do not sign max contracts to their own players because they believe they are the best. They offer big contracts to their guys whom they really like. And they way over pay. Dlaw, Dak, Zeke....all 3 production could be replicated at a fraction of the cost. We will never know if any other team would have paid them but we know no other team will take on 2 their contracts. And I fully expect them to extend Dak again, another mistake.

Think it's a bit more of a simplified view than mine, but yes, it's a team game. Let's say Dez catches that pass against Green Bay clearly and our defense somehow holds on, wouldn't Romo deserve some of the credit for that victory especially considering the pass that he threw? Wouldn't at least to an extent it be fair to say if we'd went on to a Super Bowl that Romo played a big role in that?

Not saying you, but it's funny to me how some see it. They look at Romo's record in the playoffs and act like that is all on him. As I pointed out in another thread, Matthew Stafford was 0-3 in the playoffs with Detroit. He's 4-0 with the Rams, with a Super Bowl title. Did the Rams win the Super Bowl because of Stafford or did they win despite Stafford? I say they won with Stafford, just like Detroit lost with Stafford. Neither was because of Stafford, but he deserves credit. That's the distinction that gets lost somehow. Stafford benefitted from the team he was on in LA, but the team benefitted from Stafford as well.

If Dallas gets to the Super Bowl, it will have benefitted from having Prescott on the team even though getting to the Super Bowl wouldn't have been because of him, because it is a team game. Romo did not get to the Super Bowl because of the team he was on. I feel confident that I can say that because some lesser quarterbacks have won Super Bowls.

If you would have read my next post you would have seen that I said this:

"100% bus driver and was still the best version of him we've seen. He's still chasing the ghost of his rookie season 6 years later.

They can't even brag about stats for 2016 because they're not that impressive. I used his rankings in those particular stats to point out that not even the box score lovers can't brag about his stats in 2016, because for a QB, they were completely average.

That even though his stats were completely and utterly average compared to his peers, it was still his best season. That proves exactly what I said about stats being misleading and only a small piece of the bigger picture.

This is silly. If Dak was put into the same situation as Romo — under Bill Parcells — he may have never played at all. Romo earned his place as QB on the team in the old school, proper way, by satisfying an old school HOF coach who had an aversion to young players compared to veterans, with his abilities and play over the veteran the coach knew for years and chose as his starter. Dak fell into it due to injuries of the two QBs who would’ve been starting before him if those things never happened, and kept his job because of a coach who would never have got a head coaching job anywhere else (and is no longer coaching anywhere) who wanted to ride some magical fairy tale “hot hand” with a rookie over reality, a rational assessment of why the team was really winning, and sound and logical football decisions.

I respectfully disagree, not necessarily because I believe that Dak will be a future Hall of Famer, maybe he will, maybe not..

Jerry is not willing to start all over again at QB. He doesn't have the time left. Dak represents his last shot, his last hope. I still think there is a chance but the point is, what would be the alternative?

.Do you think Jerry is going to trade up in a future draft, give up three 1st round picks to get the #1 overall pick and hope he gets Manning/Aikman/Stafford and not Goff/Russel/Winston?
