So if they said we have a trade with Dallas and SF and with the 10th pick Dallas selects (wait, wait) Michael Crabtree from Texas Tech... in return Barber will go to SF. Would you celebrate or boo? :laugh1:

I'd probably sign off on that, even though I hate giving up a proven commodity like Barber for a "what if." That said, I don't think SF would do that deal, either.

I agree. I love Barber but I really do not think any team would give up a top #1 pick for him. Which is why I said yes chances I would give up a role player for a top 10 maybe 15 pick?

No way. Baber is a known quantity and regardless of where you pick, top five, top ten , etc...nothing is a sure thing. Even this kid Crabtree may turn out to be a nobody - I am not saying that will be the case - but there have been quite a few "can't miss" guys in past drafts that turned out to be duds.

I say we stick with the three guys at Rb that we have now and let them all get their respective touches, stay fresh and be that much more of a threat next season.

I would probably trade him for a 3rd in this years draft and a 1st round pick NEXT year, NOT this year.

Nope.....I wouldn't

I want to see more from Choice. He's not the first rb to dazzle us in a half a season. I'd want to make sure he's not the next Julius Jones.

I probably would if I could be assured of getting one of the top OT's in this draft. RB's are easy to find, Tashard could be a fine every down back, and OT's are very hard to find.

I would trade Romo for an undrafted rookie that tested positive for cocaine. :p:

How many times has this been asked? lol. The answer is YES for a top 15 pick. But it's a NO because it will never happen since he's logged alot of miles on his body already and RB's are fairly easy to find.

Nope I wouldn't. Even if there were no big contract numbers to think about against the cap I wouldn't trade him for a 1st rounder.

Barber brings a certain excitement to this team that I wouldn't want to lose. With Felix, and Choice, this year they'll be able to reduce the carries for Barber throughout games and allow him to really close games up for us like before.

Thanks, but no thanks.

I would trade MBIII for a top 15 selection in a heartbeat, but no one would give that up for him.

He's a good back, not a franchise back, and he is currently overpaid for what he is.

In this craptastic draft? Unlikely. I'd have to know who we're getting in return.

...and this.

Likely the only player in this year's draft I would straight up trade Barber for would be Curry. In most other drafts I'd say hell yeah, but this one has far too many ???? to gamble a player like Barber.

I'd also be far more apt to do something like this if I had seen more from Choice. He looks great so far....but when defenses start keying in on him...we just don't know.

One or the other would have to be a reality for me to pull the trigger.

I'd like to know where you would get the money to pay this top 15 pick, eat Barber's cap hit and do Ware's contract.

Explain it to me like I am 4.

Jerry wants nothing to do w/a first round pick, so he says. But Ellis, Carp and a future 3rd for Detroit's 2nd (war daddy), that I would do.

I would do it. He's a warrior, I love him, and I would hate to see him go. But, we have Choice and Felix and he's the most expendable of the three IMO. The other two are longer and will most likely have longer careers, and both are great. We already have two good RB's besides him, I think we could really use the draft pick to upgrade elsewhere in a position of need.

Reality should figure out how to put a governor on the board to limit the number of trade Barber posts.

The pop-up would say:

Sorry for the inconvenience. But the limit of 200815 threads about trading Barber was reached in March. It was decided in all of the threads that the cap would preclude this idea.

However, if you truly want to start a thread, we have space available on the Trade Ware for a fifth round pick.

WARNING: The Cowboy Zone is not responsible for the repercussions of starting this thread. Keyed cars, deflated tires, and personal pets with their arses shaved to say You Suck are the responsibility of The Original Poster.
