Honestly I saw the projection of the ball change. It seemed to hit Julius Peppers body. I am very happy with the outcome however I think Santa helped us soemwhat with the outcome of this game...

I looked at the replay a dozen or so times. It may very well have been tipped but there is simply no way that a replay booth could say there was irrefutable evidence.

Ya know what? I still say Mel Renfro didn't tip that ball against the Colts in SB V. So don't ask me.

I fully admit that I believe the kick WAS in fact touched. Just barely but it was.

However, it was NOT conclusive enough to overturn the call on the field because the ball did not visibly change course of direction or shift in it's rotation.

And tipped or not tipped, Cundiff was going to miss it either way.
Cut him.

I looked at the replay 20 times and I just cant tell. I think the booth made the right decision based on the ruling on the field.

ive seen the replay a dozen times, it looks to me like it goes between the other defender's arms, it does not touch Peppers. im more suprised that the call didnt go against us being the game was in Carolina.

on another note, i think Atlanta got screwed when they didnt reverse that catch in the endzone, that shouldve been a TD by Atlanta.

Carolina did not challenge the call. They called time out, which allowed the refs in the booth more time to look at the replays. With that time, the refs determined that the play was at least close enough to merit an official review. The refs in the booth are the only ones that can initiate a review in the final 2 minutes of a half.

I thought it was slightly deflected. That is what caused it to go wide right. If it isn't it sneaks in to tie the game. Crazy stuff happens in the NFL. That call didn't cost the Panthers the game. Dallas still went on and used their new life to win that game. They ran for over 200 yards. That is what they did to beat Carolina.

I am concerned with Dallas FG protection. Peppers went untouched into the back field. They need to correct that.

You gotta look for 3 things. First of all the only player it could have hit was Julius Peppers. Lucas saying he felt his fingers tingle is just a flat out nonsensical statement. What do you look for?

1. Does the spin of the ball change. Not the trajectory. How is the ball spinning off Cundiff's foot? How is it spinning when it passes Peppers? Are they the same spin? Physics would tell you logically that the spin of the ball would change if interrupted by any force.

2. Does the trajectory change? We all know this.

3. Is there evidence on Pepper's jersey that something touched it? A wrinkle suddenly appear? Do you see it move? Not the whole jersey, just that one spot?

It is hard to see these things even in slow motion. I don't think the ball touched anone, but I agree with the poster about Mel Renfro.

I've watched the play a dozen or so times, with slow motion, fast forward, rewind, etc with TIVO . . . and I don't think the ball was touched at all. There doesn't appear to me to be any change in the balls flight/spin/trajectory at any point in passing the players.

Good call by the Refs . . .

Cundiff missed that kick on his own . . . so he should be cut.

And it was offensive pass interference against Swann not defensive pass interference against Barnes.

They can review a tipped pass as well on pass interference calls.
