Serious Randy Gregory question

If he is the best lineman on the team then the Dallas Cowboys need to really have a come to Jesus moment on what the hell it is they are doing on the Defensive Line because that would mean that their defensive line is trash and a guy who has never played full season and has had problems adhering to the NFL drug policy was your best defensive lineman.

You talking about Gregory or DLaw or Irvin?

I honestly hope Gregory gets his life together and is able to come back to this team to contribute. That being said, not sure how the OP can say he's the best Dlineman on the team (even going by potential) after the elite season that DLaw just had.

Talent wise he is. Guy would have been a top 5 pick if not for the off field issues. DLaw waited until his contract year to play at an elite level. Prior to this season he was a oft injured / suspended JAG.

There was quite the buzz that Jaylon was on NE's radar in the 2nd. Now on Gregory I think we coulda waited and got him in the 3rd or 4th.

Hello. Yeah, that was out there but I never believed that buzz. There are some good posts on this already in this thread so i won't explain why i was skeptical. Even if NE had drafted Jaylon but we made a pick that could have contributed for two full years at this point, we are still better off. What if our pick was Michael Thomas?

Just sayin' you can't make those kind of low odd gambles with early round picks if you want the team to be the best it can be.

At the end of the day we know Jerry loves his risk taking in the second round. Gregory if he wasn't an idiot would have been a steal at where we got him. Unfortunately he didn't pan out. As a recovering addict I hope he gets his life straightened out, but my confidence in that is very slim. Josh Gordon did it, so who knows.
I hope he gets straighted out as well whether he plays football or not but Jerry has always taken risks and rarely have they worked out. He tries to outsmart everyone for his own ego and ends up with egg on his face. There’s a lot of good talent to be found in the second round, he needs to leave it in the hands of the big boys, McClay.

All this conjecture about Jaylon Smith is just that ... conjecture. He could still pan out to be a stud.

Every one of our draft selections is a gamble almost. Byron Jones anyone?

He was a force at NE and I'd wonder after all he's been through if he still has the desire and drive to play in the NFL.

It has been mysteriously quiet about him for quite some time and I wonder what he's up to lately. Booger is all about reclamation projects with players, especially the ones that screw up, so he'll get every chance to get right.

Rumored by who?

TMZ reported it:

Jerry Jones was skeptical of report:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ical-of-randy-gregory-failed-drug-test-report[/QUOTE]

HUh?????? both these articles are dated April 2017.......few months AFTER Gregory one year ban. Jerry is doubting hid failed test.
Other words, what does this have to do with your claim of a rumor he failed ANOTHER test ...........has applied for reinstatement

It proves exactly that I said. I will repeat what I said...It was rumored that he failed another test last year. This is 2018, the story (rumor)came out in 2017 (hence last year). If true, this "other" test would have been one that was failed while serving the banishment.

Don't shoot the messenger. The OP asked for an update. I'm just proving what information I have been able to find.

I like Broaddus but he is clueless more often than not.

These guys are after clicks on their headlines...

I read them, and take a " we shall see" approach. that said Broaddus at least offers some insights into players , Fisher to me is just " click bait" and getting more subscribers for a pay site that I no longer use

True but as you've been reminded before, DLaw is finally healthy and that is why he was able to break out....doesn't really haven anything to do with him being in a contract year IMO. Gregory might have the talent to be a better pass rusher than DLaw, but not an overall better player. I doubt that Gregory could ever play the run as well as DLaw did from the edge this past season; I would wager that playing the run would be a weakness for Gregory at the pro level.

I have no idea why people put any credence into BB or Fisher's predictions.
Me either
I do like to sit back and read their Twitter timelines. Both are thin skinned and get defensive quickly (Fisher especially).

You must not have seen him play college ball. Better run defender than pass rusher.

I also “heard” he failed another test. If so then he is done. I also “heard” he said he would be back.

My only serious question about Ganjory is where does he get his marijahootchie? That's some good ****. Better than millions of dollars and I never had any that approached that.

He also needs to hold the hit a little longer and expand his chest. Then his head won't look so big.
