Serious Randy Gregory question

If Randy Gregory was ever gonna play in the NFL, he woulda been doing so all along.

Let it go...

IF he was on the right track, trust me, Jerry would be selling it to the masses right now. Jerry's silence speaks volumes IMO.

Broaddus and Fisher are both d-bags, but I highly doubt they're both totally off-base on Gregory.

Broaddus is worse than Mickey Spagnolia was. And he is wrong quite often. Don't ever take anything he says seriously.

Fisher like you said is a d-bag but he is better than Broaddus and has a better pulse on the Cowboys.

Yes but how often have both been totally wrong on a subject re: to the Cowboys?

These guys hang out at the Cowboys facility 24/7, do you know how easy it is for them to ask someone in the know about some dirt on Gregory? I'm sure both have heard negative things so they're trying to temper fan expectations.

I understand taking chances is part of life & sometimes ya gotta. Gregory & Jaylon are two chances you didn't have to take AT THE DRAFT POSITION YOU DID.

Gregory should probably not have been taken period after failing test at combine. Certainly not until the 5th or later.

Jaylon, thru no fault of his own, shouldn't have been taken until the 5th or later as well.

If they fall to you there, i can understand the gamble. Otherwise, let someone else mine for fools gold. Occasionally someone will strike a nugget but they will also go broke on a regular basis.

Sorry to original poster. No, I don't have any new info. Just a rant about ineptitude of our decision makers.

Has not played meaningful snaps in almost 3 years.
Has missed 30 games because of suspension since his famous "the team that drafts me wont have to worry about me off the field" Lie.
In the 14 games played only had 1 sack 8 hurries 15 tackles

Only an idiot would think he can suddenly start contributing even if he ever see's the field again.

I like broaddus. Most of the time the things are just conversational and being right or wrong is no big deal but he has moments where he seems angry and insistent that he is right and i don’t get it.

Fisher is a tool and always has been.

Agree on Broaddus. At times he seems like a chummy, easy going fellow. Other times he really rubs me the wrong way. Sometimes its his opinions that are completely opposite all supposed facts or logic yet he argues as if he has some inside knowledge only to be proven wrong. But he really ticks me off when he talks down to folks. I understand getting asked the same questions over & over can get annoying. It would drive me crazy. However, he chose this line of work. It's his job to be an advocate for the fan & try to bring some insight into the organization to light. Some of his responses to folks are so "I know better, just shut up & mark my words as the gold standard." Even worse, when he doesn't even actually address the person's real question.

While it appears that this was a waste of a pick, I'm staying optimistic that he'll get it together. There was a time when he was a no-brainer top-10 pick, and rightfully so, he was a monster at Nebraska.

This is a good point.

For all the grief he got early on, Taco Charlton actually has more sacks in almost the same amount of games played as Gregory.

Taco got better as the season wore on. The team will be a lot better off, if he can develop into the future at RE.

I don’t know the reason why he is waiting, I just know he hasn’t applied for reinstatement yet.

Yes, there is still plenty of time for him to be reinstated before the 2018 season. I am not holding my breath but it is still possible.

From what I've read on a few Cornhusker sites is that he's waiting to apply so he can spend additional time, above and beyond what was required by the NFL, in rehab. He needs the additional time, for obvious reasons, plus it doesn't hurt for Rodgy to see that he took this seriously and went above and beyond.

There was quite the buzz that Jaylon was on NE's radar in the 2nd. Now on Gregory I think we coulda waited and got him in the 3rd or 4th.

Another one of “Jerry’s Kids”. Well done Jerry, well done! Sometimes I wonder if Jerry is running a drug and physical therapy rehab clinic or a football team.

At the end of the day we know Jerry loves his risk taking in the second round. Gregory if he wasn't an idiot would have been a steal at where we got him. Unfortunately he didn't pan out. As a recovering addict I hope he gets his life straightened out, but my confidence in that is very slim. Josh Gordon did it, so who knows.

TMZ reported it:

Jerry Jones was skeptical of report:

Actually that isn't a fair way to compare those 2 players at all. Games played means nothing. It's snaps played that count.

Only update is that neither Broaddus nor Fisher think he's coming back to the team

The good news is they're both wrong quite often

Other than that..no news
I thought I read he was eligible to apply for reinstatement like last November?

hey if Gordon can get all these shots and come back and shine, Gregorys worth one last chance as its a position that can use depth and if its already on the roster and cheap to keep, why not..he gets one more that's it..obviously Gordon showed why hes worth it but Gregory has chance to prove it..wasn't so long ago people were through with Dlaw..now look..

hmmmm...the notoriously hush-hush Belichick lead patriots let this out for what reason?

I was always skeptical of this report because it reeks of a convenient BS leak to prop up yet another jethro the wildcatter gamble.

The only thing I ever saw on this issue is a single tweet by Ian Rapport that was the basis for several articles but was never verified by other sources, especially the Patriots who are not in the habit of releasing their strategies about anything, so why now?

I honestly hope Gregory gets his life together and is able to come back to this team to contribute. That being said, not sure how the OP can say he's the best Dlineman on the team (even going by potential) after the elite season that DLaw just had.
