Shady McCoy could replace Demarco Murray next season?

There is talk in Philly that the Eagles will probably release Shady McCoy in the offseason because he's due to make 12 million next year. I'm sure he would love to play against the Eagles twice a year if they release him.

If Murray gets a monster deal somewhere maybe Jerry can sign Mccoy to replace him?

I think the running back position is in flux right now.

I think a lot of teams will be looking at the Cowboys and how successful they are this year in running the ball behind an offensive line built through heavy investments in the draft.

I think this could cause a lot of teams to focus on offensive line in future drafts. It could also impact running back compensation in a good way or a bad way. If Murray were to leave Dallas, and the next guy up runs for 1400 yards... I think running back compensation will continue to drop. If Murray leaves Dallas and we can't run the ball well, I think running back compensation will rise fairly dramatically. Again, our ability to impact the league depends largely on our success running the ball behind this line.

nah i don't want no stinking eagles on my team. ap come on down. 3 yrs/9 mill to play for your childhood team.

AD still has some legs and with his issues will be much cheaper then Murray on the open market. I think he has at least 3 years of solid production left

If Murray can get a monster deal, I'm sure McCoy could too.

Bottom line, I think we're in a good position. We currently have a guy who's on pace to break the all-time record. And we have a guy who is on pace to be the greatest of all-time who wants to play for us. And the guy who's been the best RB in the league the past few years might be released and be available.

If we don't have a top notch RB next year, it will be a shame. But for now, let's just be happy with a guy in Demarco Murray who's on pace to break the all-time record (I've never seen more posts about replacing a guy who was in the midst of breaking every record known to man).

Yeah I would avoid AP .. He has a few legal issues and from what I have heard and read it's only the tip of the iceberg

No to McCoy as well

he has one legal issue which will be settled in december. the likelihood of jail time is less than .00000001%. we can't mess this opportunity up.

With all respect to you .. There are other issues with AP... You will see soon enough .. I would love to have him as a cowboy as well but I don't know if that will be possible

I pretty much agree. the PR issues involved in signing him are the biggest hurdle a gm is going to have to figure out.

do you have some inside info? i know he's not an angel. i've heard things about him going back to OU but do you know something new that is coming to light?

those things are always overrated. josh brent is practicing with the team, nobody cares anymore. ap will be a talking point for a week then business will go on as usual.

Again I would love to have him at the right price on the Cowboys but it might be a tough one to have happen ..

The stuff back to OU is pretty minor too compared to some other things .. AP needs to focus allot of attention on AP.. Unfortunately more stuff might be hitting the fan soon enough .. I hope what I have heard is wrong and I don't want to post speculations as not looking to add rumors without having 100% confirmation

If you think he will get off, then there is no way he will be available for 3m a year..that is a pipe dream. If he gets convicted, I'd be pissed if we made him ANY offer.

Thing is, I have seen the pics and no matter what happens, that is child abuse. Don't want him here.

i haven't followed the case but i've heard that even if he is convicted, the likelihood of jail time is slim to none. he will be available next year and i'm confident he will come to uncle jerry and accept a significant pay cut.

McCoy's cap hit this season is $9.7 million. His cap hit next season goes up to $11.95 million. Will the Eagles really dump him over that increase? McCoy's cap hit then goes down to $8.85 million in 2016 and $7.75 million in 2017.

We'll have adrian Peterson behind this offensive line. Just watch. Jerry loved A.P and he wants to be a cowboy. Make it happen.
