Shame on you "Cowboy fans" who left this game early. Their was a steady stream of them heading toward the gates after our last punt. If there is one thing we all should have learned this year, it's that if there is time on the clock, there is still a chance. There is no way I was leaving that stadium with time on the clock.

I do need to point out that there was a feeling in the air. After Barber had that nice run on the draw play, the air was let out of the stadium and doubt began to creep in. It was wierd.

That must have been unreal to be there in those last few minutes as a Boys fan.

Curious, did any belligerent Eagles fans try to take a swing at you after the game?

When Roy got to the endzone it was surreal. It didn't sink in until the drive home afterward. It was like "I can't believe I just witnessed that". "We actually won that game."

There was plenty of that going on. Not with me though. They're idiots.

Shame on you for posting a "shame on you" thread. What gives you the right to suggest that someone is not a Cowboy fan if they decide to leave early? Man, I hate threads like these.

There was another one of these on the board earlier...

I was here at the zone in the chat room when some of us were saying " im going to go to bed and hope that we won when i wake up" or "we suck" Those are the people that should feel ashamed of themselves, everyone was giving up on my boys....I knew we would make a game of it...even though it didnt always look that way, Im just glad that Drew and company didnt give up when most of us cowboy fans did.

You watch this game long enough and you learn...never walk away.

Even after we took the lead, did anyone feel confident?

I know I didn't.

And except for a fluke bounce on the Barber fumble, this would be a very different forum today..

Would you have left? I'm not sayin that they're any less of a fan than me or you or anyone else. But IMO, this was my one chance to see something special happen. And as a fan, whether it's my first game or my 21st game, I don't give up on my team until the clock has no time on it. Sorry if this offends you, maybe I should say "How could you leave early." But that's not how I feel about it.

I was at the game, stayed the whole time. I didn't see any Cowboys fans leaving, but plenty of Eagles fans left. The whole two rows in front of me cleared out. I've never heard such sweet silence as when Roy returned that INT for a TD.

There were lots of fights. One guy in a Staubach jersey got jumped in my section (123) and for some reason he was the one who got thrown out. The fans were the usual belligerent, arrogant and rude. But what a sweet victory !

I was actually more nervous after we took the lead. I knew there was enough time on the clock for Philly to come back and with McMahon entering the game with fresh legs I was not sure what to expect. That would have really hurt to come from behind and then lose the game in the closing seconds. As I mention in another thread I have never left a game early or stopped watching a game no matter how bad it gets, it just does not seem right to turn my back on the Boys. I'm with them through the good and the bad

I was actually in Chat during the game til the very end, but that wasn't my point.

I just hate when people question the loyalty of a fan, because they didn't do something or they post something you don't like.

It doesn't offend me, it annoys me. Minor difference.

hey...I watched the Giant game this weekend....it was the same situation...

Funny thing...I got my gf into watching the games this year. She's into it big time. She called toward the end and I told her, "I'm staying up...but you should just go to sleep."

Uh, I woke her up a few minutes later.

"YOU TOLD ME TO GO TO SLEEP!" Was the first thing I heard. OOOOPS.

Maybe what should offend you is that those fans are showing their true colors and when their team is winning they pretend to be Real Fans. Anybody who gets up and leaves a game while the outcome is still in the balance is a quitter and a Fair-Weather Fan in my mind.

Why is it the fans are held to a higher standard than the team. They did not even show up for the first 55 minutes but the fans are expected to get hyped for the game, show up/watch that crap forr 55 min, and not get totally irritated with a team that is playing with any emotion or fire.

I never turn off a Cowboy game , just can't do it, preseason or otherwise but I cannot blame people who do!!

Who said we were held to a higher standard. I except the same thing from the players. In my mind they're not real players if they quit or give up.
Look, players come and go as do coaches. But to be a fan of a team you need to be in it for the long haul or expect to be called a Fair-Weather fan.

I don't "blame" anyone for leaving early. All I was saying is that is a shame that any fan could give up on their team with half a quarter left. And for what? to beat traffic? I'd sit in traffic all night to see what I saw happen last night. If you're saying that you'd never turn off a game no matter how meaningful or meaningless it is, then we're in the same boat as far as that goes. But if that game was 27-7 I still would have been in my seat hoping and praying for a miracle. That's what fans do, isn't it?

No kidding..I thought all we had done was delay the inevitable (and I was almost sick when I saw Barber lay it on the ground...by the way, why was he in at that time...hasn't he had a bit of the fumblerooskies in the past?). WAY too much time on the clock aftert the pick and TD by Roy for me to feel comfortable.
