I disagree.

If he gets this team to the NFCCG and the team plays very well, Wade Phillips will be back.

I think a strong NFCCG and his Regular Season record are enough to get a 4th Year.

With Ratboy waiting. I want PHILLIPS BACK.

This team is already evolving into something great again IMO. How do we know, Shanahan won't just screw everything up by bringing in another staff?

I'm gonna wait till the season is over before judging our current staff. If the gnats and cards can win this conference....SO CAN WE!

Is Shanahan waiting on Jerry?

By Matt MosleyIn case you missed it, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported Sunday that people were telling him that former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan wants to wait to see if the Cowboys have an opening at head coach. There have already been reports that Shanahan has been in talks with the Commanders about becoming their head coach.

If Glazer's report is accurate, it could make for an awkward situation. Commanders owner Dan Snyder thinks of Jerry Jones as a mentor and the two have become good friends. Fortunately for Snyder, the Cowboys are coming off a big win over the Saints.

What some folks don't realize is that Jones wants Wade Phillips to continue as head coach. But he's made it clear that the Cowboys need to have some playoff success for that to happen.

I think Shanahan will eventually take the Commanders job. And that's why Snyder should write DeMarcus Ware and Tony Romo a thank you note for the way they played in New Orleans.

Yeah, I heard this on ESPN Radio.

They said Shanahan is putting together a staff and Daniel Snyder is trying to get Shanahan because he feels Shanahan really wants the Dallas job.

That is what Jay Glazer said on the Sunday Pre game show on FOX. He also said that Dallas was not interested in Shanahan.

The only problem is that I'm really starting to like Wade's Defense now, what will we do on that side of the ball?
That is what I'm worried about.

Ok WAde the Head coach sucks, but His Defense and his playcalling have been solid. We lose that and have to start over again? I dont like it.

If that is indeed the case, then i would have no problem with it. If they make it that far and play well (win or lose) i would want to have at least one more year of continuity for this team. After all, we just want the team to do well and remain competitive no matter who is coaching them.
Not sure everyone's agenda on the Zone jives with this statement, but I'm definitely on board! As long as we're winning, I could care less who's donning the headset! Sadly, I think some want Wade outta Big D regardless if he wins in the postseason or not...

Shanahan sucks at defense though, he has no eye for that side of the ball as a talent evaluator or schemer.

They better get a damn fine DC if they bring in Shanahan because the D is what cost him his job in Denver.

i guess they could promote Campo and see if he understands the 3-4.

We clearly have the talent to do more then we have done. Unless you want to blow up the team you have to change the coach.

Make Wade the D-Coordinator officially. He and Shanny could get along.

Not sure if there's a HC in the league who would take a demotion in this manner...not even mild-mannered, aw-shucks, good ol' boy Wade!!

That is purely speculation. The Cowboys have to win at least one playoff game and that might not be enough.
lol at dising the speculation then following it up with more speculation.....

Exactly.. I don't understand why people want to get rid of Wade.. That is the thing i am worried about.. I don't want to go back to the long ball on dallas days.

The Chiefs did it a few years ago, but that may be a good argument against trying it.:)

I agree with you on the Garrett-Phillips theory.

But I think Shanahan sincerely wants the Dallas job. With Romo, it's a much better job than any others that will be open this year.

Having Romo is the major attraction for any potential HC. Most HC openings tend to have a mess at QB.

There are some that post here would probably trade him away.
