I can see both sides of the Bob Stoops fence. For some reason OU did underachieve in some of the bowl games.

Fact of the matter is you cannot take from Stoops record.

Look at the numbers.

Record with Team 86-19

Overall Record 86-19

Bowl Record 4-4

Awards:

2000 Walter Camp Nat'l COY
2000 Paul "Bear" Bryant Award
2000 Home Depot COY
2000 AP Nat'l COY
2003 Walter Camp Nat'l COY

Championships won:

2000 National Championship,

2000/2002/2004/2006 Big 12 Championship

Yes - yes I would love Stoops here as the HC of Dallas. But- I am just posting some information as to why Stoops should not be thrown to the side just because you hate OU or feel for some reason he would not be a good coach.

Give the guy a break.

I say get Stoops from Oklahoma and little brother from Arizona. =)

Les Miles hasn't proven anything. Stoops is interesting but I haven't seen anything that shows he can put together an exciting offense.

I don't mind Stoops, but I don't really like Miles that much. He inherited a great program as LSU and has simply maintained it. Stoops took over a pitifull OU program and built it up to National Championship level. If you don't like "vanilla" schemes, you'll hate Miles. Stoops had the guts to hire Mike Leach to run his offense.

Pure, PURE, speculation...these guys don't have any more of an idea of what they are talking about than we do...atleast not yet.

Miles is a better pick IMHO than Phillips or Turner. He did well at OSU a tough place to win and seems to be doing fine at LSU. He coached on the Boys before so hes not unfamiliar to the NFL, and...

there are so many other guys the thought of whom makes my skin crawl. A big part of Miles hire would be who would he get to be coordinators, but I can think of a lot worse.

Houston Nutt for example.

Dont put it past Jerry.

I would rather have Wade Phillips than one of those guys.

There would be a total unheavel of the current system, while Phillips coming in would not be IMO.

Who knows what Romo would have to go through with a young college coach coming in.

At least Phillips would possibly keep the offensive system in place with Palmer and Sporano.

The other two are shots in the dark. it is a 50/50 propositon with a college coach at best. I really hate the idea. If Phillips did not work out, I don't think it would be a the total meltdown that a college guy could bring.
