Wade Phillips played a fun little game with the media today called Fibbing About T.O.'s High Ankle Sprain.
Phillips first said that T.O. didn't practice. He backpedaled a bit when informed that several players mentioned that T.O. did participate in the workout, although the Original 81 wasn't on the field during the time the media is allowed to watch.
Phillips said T.O. didn't run at all, emphasizing that it was a walkthrough. He stuck to his guns that T.O. would be a gametime decision.
"It was a limpthrough for him," Phillips cracked, "and a walkthrough for others."
Well, a few offensive players said the Original 81 actually looked pretty good while running routes this morning.
No matter what Phillips says the rest of the week, expect T.O. to be ready to go Sunday afternoon against the Giants. Just don't let anybody in New York know that.

It's pretty clear to me that TO would prefer to keep his progress quiet. What else would account for the radio silence that has transpired regarding his injury since he went down? We get constant updates on his quotes and copyright requests, along with travel plans of Tony and Co. but we dont get jack when it comes to his progress.
It is a long shot but I am sure he is thinking that the Giants will somehow expect less out of him and thus play him a little differently than if they know step by step how he feels, his "percentage" of health, etc.
That's why he didnt show up to the media portion of practice, that's why we havent heard anything out of the man for 2 weeks.
I dont have a problem with this at all, it's a little strange how Wade didnt instruct the players not to say anything about TO in practice. Is that an indictment of his control over the team and the message they want to get across or simply an indication of how seriously he takes this whole silence thing?
