There is no reason to incur more cap damage over the guys available out there.

We simply are not a top tier team. We are playing with guys off the street, while other teams have all-pros. It's not gonna be solved this late in the game. We're screwed.

Nice avatar. ;)

Why have I not given up? If you have to ask, then I am not sure I can explain it to your satisfaction but people when faced with crisis either run or fight. I prefer to fight.

Since you are a voyeur of a game wherein unless you have subscribed to the All-22, you don't ever see all of the players at the snap of the ball. Therefore anything we, as fans, do other than have another beer, or DVR and speed through the commercials truly has no effect on the outcome of the game.

Been one since day one. And over the years have come to the conclusions there are years of greatness, there are years of mediocrity, and then there are years of sadness. Each of those years usually heralds itself early and fulfills the promises of being good, so-so, and lousy.

This team is playing people off the streets and cannot get pressure on the other team's QB.

The offense is becoming one-dimensional.

All signs point to the next six games as being a struggle, with the East possibly slipping through the team's fingers.

I see nothing I can do save for biting my fingernails and awaiting the outcome.

I see this season as a total loss. It's pretty clear, with all the injuries, we just don't have the talent to beat anybody good. No one player or 2 players are going to put us over the top. I'd rather take whatever cap space we have leftover and roll it over to next season.

Exactly. The problems on this team can't be solved by one or two vets. Five or six vets at this point couldn't turn it around. Considering the problems with the cap next year, they better toll it over.

I agree. Fan's attitudes to fight has no effect on the team whatsoever. There is nothing that fans can do about the problems on this team. I don't care if fans hold out hope to the bitter end, but they will have to face reality , either sooner or later.

I understand that the remaining cap space for 2013 is nil but Cowboys (that means you Jerry) need a sense of urgency.

Jerry and Stephen can manipulate cap space to pay players only for the remainder of the season without rolling it in to the cap tragedy of 2014.

Instead of 6 Edgar Jones types, why not one Richard Seymour, Ed Reed or Brian Urlacher? Instead of Darrion Weems, why not a Lance Louis, Brandon Keith or better yet, Brandon Moore. Cowboys do not need another OT right now, they need to shore up the middle of the trenches (OG & DT) as well thru the entire D (DT, MLB and Safety).

One vet who is familiar with the system on either side of the ball may be all that is needed to bring some stability and confidence back to this team. There are only 6 games left in the regular season, but that is still enough time to win the division and be competitive in the post season, with the right additions. I am talking about key guys who are proven and can provide immediate impact, not a revolving door of the next Selvie cross your fingers and hope to God. I am talking about a half season rental.

I love Selvie and a good bottom of the roster churn, but Cowboys will not hit on multiple immediate impact "no name" guys with only 6 games to go.

That's the mentality that got this team into trouble in the first place.

Not exactly. That vet money went into our own, who have sat around and barely played.

Was this team really good enough that they needed to give Spencer 10.6M as a Franchise Player? That move should only be done by a team that has a high probability of winning a Super Bowl.

A team that didn't make the playoffs the previous year and are implementing a new defensive scheme had a very low probability of making it to the Super Bowl.

Having said that, I do feel that Franchising Spencer instead of giving him a huge contract is a half-step in the right direction.
