Shotty, McCarthy, or Garrett

I don’t think number three is a puppet at all,
That's what people said about puppet #2. Honestly, it is hard to judge how good coaches can be, when they allow themselves to be puppets. But I don't buy into all the culture thing, they were spewing at the beginning of the season. All you got to do is see what fans were complaining about online, you find culture, and then if you want to give the fans some lip service you talk the talk. At the end of the day, we still seem like we are about to miss the playoffs, so I'm not overly impressed with what the coaching staff has done to walk the walk.

Just because you’re not impressed with the coaching, staff does not mean they’re puppets

coach landry.
his house.
his team.
he built it.
he consistently got his teams to achieve what they always wanted to achieve....by getting them to do what they didn't want to do.

heres what no one talks about, why, no sports show talks about it.

Who built a better coaching tree? So far, minus the stupid stuff fans spew, most of the tree is pretty good or getting better.

I believe since Tom Landry there have only been two non-puppet coaches here: Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcels. All the other coaches are neutered a bit by our owner/GM. You have a right to believer else-wise and be impressed with words the coaching staff is spewing to the public. Me I am a believer that actions speak louder than words and at the end of the day, it still seems like we are a slightly over-achieving team that will miss the playoffs at the cost of draft capital. If the current puppet wasn't neutered then explain to me again how Parsons was traded again right before the season opener. A real coach wouldn't put up with that kind of fantasy football GMing. Some of you guys believe what you are told; some of us want to see action.

Schottenheimer has shown signs of potential and as a Cowboys fan I will root for him to succeed, but he seems to do the same thing McCarthy did which was leave people on the field who are not performing well.

To his credit, Schottenheimer is an offensive coach and he not only correctly pick Javonte to start, he also shifted from a planned running back rotation to Javonte as primary and only replaces him for breathers. He also moved on from Tolbert which is really impressive considering Tolbert was not a bad receiver but it was clear he had hit his ceiling with the Cowboys.

On defense, it may be a situation where he's leaving those decisions up to Eberflus out of respect for a former head coach, but he needs to learn this is his team, not Eberflus' team and he is responsible for the team's performance, not just that of the offense.
come on you really don't think its up to Schotty do you?

I like schotty so far. We're seeing a lot of good things along with some learning experiences and growing pains but the arrow seems pointed up!

Dallas fails because of roster problems, not coaching problems.

I don't blame a coach for going 8-8 if he has an 8-8 roster to work with.

The GM is responsible for the roster.

I'm not so sure that sometimes it's not coaching problems.

The franchise makes more than enough money that we should have the top coaches, trainers, physios, everything.. no cap on those.

And we are stuck with the other old sycophants that have been in the job 30+ years.

You are right about the GM.. ours is responsible for everything and he is terrible at it.

Imagine being that bad at your job and the boss keeping you for 30 years.

Jerry is the cheapest Billionaire I've ever seen.

(I may have woken up on the wrong side of the bed.. lol)

He needs to with a five hammer scale.

I means, everyone knows that five hammers is post of the month and in down.

Nine hammers is just confusing and leads to a never ending cycle of hammers where he has someone with an average comment getting 13 hammers because of the hammer escalation

@Coogiguy03
Sheesh I'll never make this mistake again lol

When has 'energy' ever lead to winning championships? Landry never jumped around like a child on meth and look what he accomplished. Same with Johnson and many other great coaches from the past.
Apparently you never watched Johnson

Our 3 most recent coaches, they all have different coaching styles of course, 2 of them may have been here longer than expected. I know it's too early to judge Shotty maybe a bit unfair, but I think he's done some things that other coaches wouldn't have especially when it comes to holding players accountable.

With that said, who do you like most, and why?

Garrett- The Clapper

Big Mike- Mo jo moments

Shotty- Culture!!!
Shied I liked all Three! Schotty is not handcuffed like the other two were.
