I'm creating a poll here and also here http://polldaddy.com/poll/8161429/
Chuck was a phenomenal athlete and the only athlete ever at WV to letter in 5 sports. He was drafted by the Bears after playing OL at WV. He was released after two years because of a knee injury he was told was career ending.
Landry had the genius to trade for the guy. How the heck he thought he was worth a 2nd rounder I'll never know but danged if it wasn't a steal.
He played the Sam for two years then moved to the Will when Dave Edwards (who doesn't get enough credit either) was put at the Sam. Howley's career took off. He was a tremendous athlete with true 4.5-4.6 speed who was a great coverage linebacker. He had 5 INTs one year (and I think perhaps another). Jordan, Edwards and Howley were perhaps the greatest trio of 4-3 LBers ever (with no apologies to the Steelers of that time). He intercepted two passes in SB V and another in SB VI. He was SB MVP of V and maybe should have won it in VI.
It's a shame he and Jordan don't get the credit they deserve. IMO, Howley was one of the greatest players to ever wear the star.
