there was a pretty famous sportswriter that quit the HOF committee over some of what he had seen. Wish I remembered who it was.

It was the guy who was presenting Bob Hayes and when he was rejected as a senior member the first time. They never rejected a senior committee member until Bob Hayes. (Not sure if it has happened since though)

damnit!

the other two who voted Nein are just looking for attention!

Me I posted out of conviction (i got probation) and deeply held beliefs that after all this time Howley's window half closed.

You 2 attention getters, remove your votes!

When it comes to Cowboys, the Hall of Fame is a complete joke. Just remember that there are more 90s Bills in the Hall of Fame than 90s Cowboys.

After two straight muggings of the Bills by us in the Super Bowl I thot they would institute a mercy rule about scoring.
Bills HOF players, whoever they are could not carry Bill Bates shoulder pads. And Bates is one of our most overrated players in history.

I'm certain Tom Landry would disagree.

He knew his weaknesses and shortcomings compared to draft picks etc., but Landry loooved Bates, .. for the 'football player' that he was.

landry also loved a lot of other Cowboys who half moxie during his last years as coach. And maybe that is what got him the can on the golf course.

Yea, that Ol' Landry fellow didn't know as much about football or player evaluation as you. LOL

Jim Kelly
Andre Reed
Thurman Thomas
Bruce Smith

Troy Aikman
Michael Irvin
Emmitt Smith
Larry Allen

Looks like the same number to me. Maybe you are counting the coach Marv Levy. He did start coaching in 1986 and got to 4 Superbowls. Perhaps you are also counting James Lofton. While he did play with the Bills in the 1990s by the time he joined him he had already accumulated 11,000 receiving yards averaging 18.5 ypc before he ever went to Buffalo. If you count him, then you have to count Deion Sanders for the Cowboys.

Jim Kelly, Andre Reed, Thurman Thomas, Bruce Smith are all obvious HOFers. Lofton ended his career as the NFL's all time leading receiver (by yardage). Hard to argue about Marv Levy's qualifications.

Those first four players . . . they won how many Super Bowl Lombardini trophies . . . .? And Marv Levy really lowered the bar for HOF induction.

As to that second group of players, I hear they all half Super Bowl rings.

Only Superbowl winners can be in the HoF?

Just because they are in the HoF doesn't mean any of them are better than their Dallas Cowboy counterparts who are also in the HoF. Those guys are all deserving. The difference between the Cowboys and Bills during those years wasn't the number of Hall of Famers. It was all the other guys. Dallas had more depth and better quality depth. It takes complete teams to win it all and Dallas had very complete teams back then.
