One of the reasons the cowboys won those super bowls. Made the secondary so much better!
The tougher schedule stuff is nonsense. It could be a tougher schedule. But you don't know that.I see a 9-7 or 8-8 team this year. Just too many holes on defense, a tougher schedule, and a still young QB.
I hope to be wrong.

Of course, but quarterbacks and defenses based on last year look daunting. The tougher schedule stuff is nonsense. It could be a tougher schedule. But you don't know that.

It seems as though the team has let us down for so long, the general concensus here is very guarded optimism. We have just come off of a 13-3 record, we have a QB that seems to make good decisions with the football, we have added talent on the defensive side of the football and we have two or three more guys from our potentially historically great draft class last year that should come into their own this year, namely Smith, Tapper and Gathers.

The expectation is multiple Super Bowls over the next 5 to 7 seasons.
Anyone who lowballs it are like someone who gives up on finding that special person in their lives because they think they have had their heart broken too often.
You can't find love without risking your heart. True, if you stop trying you will never get hurt, but that isn't living, it's merely existing.
When you lower expectations you also lower the standard. If you expect 8-8 then you celebrate 10-6 as an achievement.
There is only one standard for the Cowboys, always has been. It's why they call it a legacy.
Garrett out coaching Belicheck.... that just sounds impossible. If we win it will be inspite of coaching.Expectations should always be kept under control. There is only one real winner, the SB , every year. No easy task. Will the Cowboys be good..Yes. Will they win when it counts?? Think about it. Tough Task.
Like Carolina last year?Of course, but quarterbacks and defenses based on last year look daunting.
There's always one or two.Like Carolina last year?
Sucked in? I'm fully expecting a down season. All signs point to it. The offseason was a school bus fire.
8--9 wins max.

If this was 1996-2000ish, and we had this same group, we would be EXPECTING a super bowl win based on recent history. So I ask, are we being too guarded in our optimism? Are we expecting too little from this team as fans? Or we relegated to a never ending cycle of "just wait until next year"
This team reminds me of the 1992 team. Everyone thought they were a year away and they won the super bowl. I really think this team is man for man a better team than the 1992 squad. Why not this year?
