does anyone besides me think marion should be our featured back in the first half and then put julius in during the second half ?

the opposing defense will be well worn down by that time thanks to our potent passing attack and even more potent defense that will keep their butts out there for quite some time.

thoughts?

I'm slowly beginning to view Julius Jones a lot like I view Tatum Bell. And that isn't a great thing.

i think my favorite move by marion is the way he dives like superman when he gets within 5 yards of the goal line.......the effort and desire to score when he touches the ball is intoxicating...

I would like to get Marion some more touches. I don't know how it might affect the running backs, but making Marion the first and third down back and making Julius the second down back is an interesting idea.

There definitely should be a regular rotation to keep them fresh throughout the regular season. That would be expected.

Hmm.

Barber is a good back. He'll can average 70 yards a game with bad blocking and break 100 regularly with good blocking.

Julius on the other hand is going to average maybe 50 yards a game with bad blocking. But he can break 150 regularly with good blocking.

Julius can freaking destroy a defense. Barber can't.

I think Julius will have a break out year, just wont have the tds because Parcells will put Barber in by the goal line. Juluis needs to trust his vision and keep his legs moving. Also if Barber keeps trying to run people over he might have an injury. I dont want that, but your body can only take so much. Also if Thompson got the reps he might be a feature back. Has to improve on blocking and cutting ability.

Nope. In fact, I'd rather give the ball to MBIII in the second half, especially if we have a lead. He's more of a "wear you down" type RB then JuJo.

JuJo in the first half to help build the lead.

MBIII in the second to help protect it.

Agreed. Barber is a truck. Patient. Nothing wrong with that.
Julius has the moves and the possibility is a constant. From 0-60 he's faster. Better instincts. Only problem I see is he needs to get in a groove. There'll be a lot of grooves with a better OL.

Julius If Healthy Is Gonna Have A Break Out Season. Barber Should Remain The Back Up. Jones Should His Big Game Potential Late In The Season Againgst The Panthers. If The O Lines Blocking Is Half Way Decent He Will Have A Productive Season.

.

really? so you think he's had GOOD blocking basically every game of his two yr career then? He's started 19 games and failed to gain 50+ yds twice...he's gained 70+ 15 times

Love how these Barber homers try and ***** the numbers. Fact is that MB has not proven much of anything. This is the same thing as the Romo homo's wanting him to start after looking good in ONE PRESEASON GAME.

I think Julius should be getting even more runs in a game, but Marion is a good changeup.

Julius can take it to that next level where Marion will get you those 3 or 4 yards when needed, so I can see what Bill wants to do by having Julius on 1st and 2nd, then Marion on 3rd down.

When Barber carries the ball or catches a pass I always feel like something good is going to happen.

When Jones carries the ball I always feels like he's going to run into a pile.

I like both of our backs and who ever has the hot hand within a game should get the majority of carries. Barber may not be as fast as Jones but Barber is fast enough to do the job.
