Benched for what? He made up for the turnovers by getting the team ahead late in the 4th quarter. We were STILL IN THE GAME. Wasn't like Romos turnovers had us blown out.
I never said bench him next week..I said if he has a bad stretch of games. In which case he should be benched like mcnabb IMO.

To be honest, a HORRIBLE Romo is still better than a GOOD Kitna.

Didn't Tony Romo just throw for 300+ yards and 3 Touchdowns?

Again, people need develop a stronger perspective.

We lost to the team most feel is the best in the NFC, if not the NFL.

I don't remember. It was either from a shot someone posted HERE or it was a shot from one of the games ( preseason one perhaps ) that I swiped from NFL.com. I also use it as my desktop wallpaper.
Oh man, I wish I knew who took it. I'd use that for a book cover.

The thing is he won't have a horrible stretch of bad weeks. He never does.

He'll most likely bounce back next week and have a huge game.

But Dallas has to stop killing themselves. It has to stop. PLEASE MAKE IT STOP.

For Kitna, seriously???

Kitna is a freaking joke, he got benched by an 0-16 team last year. If we bench Romo and replace him with Kitna, we will be drafting in the top 5 next year.

Sounds like you want to tank the season in order to draft Bradford or McCoy, am I correct???

Mcnabb played well after the benching and if I recall they whooped our faces in last year.

Romo isn't Mcnabb though. I don't think Romo is mentally tough enough to bounce back from a benching. I think it would shatter his already, as I see it, fragile confidence. How many times have we seen him sulking on the sidelines after a pick? I get the feeling that he thinks too much and benching him even as a motivator would only give him more time to think. For Romo I think the cure is, oddly enough, just to play football. Once he gets into another game and stops thinking about the mistakes he made in this one he'll play better.

1 completion MOVED THE BALL didn't it? When exactly did the Center hike the ball to a RB?
Tonys turnovers didn't lose the game. It kept the Giants IN the game. Learn the difference.

Seriously? Giving Tony credit for leading a drive by turning and handing the ball to a RB?

Gawd, where do you people come from? The object is to win football games and right now Romo gives us the best option and it ain't even close.

you still have to put a leash on the dude

I think benching him for a half would be a good idea, even if the plan is for a half, but he comes in after the 1st drive or 2

but of course our FO and coaches are afraid to pull any punches, so it will never happen

If someone is afraid to pull punches, then they're hitting with full force or being brutally honest with their criticism. If the front office and coaches always pulled punches, then they'd be afraid to bench Romo for a half.

Agree or disagree.

Would you agree with a benching of Romo if He starts a stretch of poor play?

I think he needs a solid benching to put him in line. Enough is enough. Throw Kitna in there and the next game put Romo back in and let him have some time to think about what he wants to Do. Maybe that's what he needs.

 that you have nothing to do with the cowboys internally, good god thats the dumbest thing i've heard in 09

I can't see Romo being benched at all this year-- outside of an injury of course.

Why? When Romo KNOWS he has to improve and cut down the INTs. He doesnt have that aww shucks attitude anymore. He has the right mindset, now he just has to go out there and do it.

Dumbest thing you've heard all year? Well maybe you missed it but mcnabb was benched and He bounced back. The entire eagles front office must be the dumbest people on the planet.

:lmao2:

You really believe him, do you?

"This one's on me," said Romo, who threw three picks and lost a fumble. "As a quarterback, you can't turn the ball over that many times and expect to win, especially in an environment like this."
T.Romo after handing the Stealers a pick6 to beat us.

"I think I won't make some of the mistakes that I made in the game again," Romo said. "At least I hope not."
T.Romo after sending 5 INTs to the Bills in October 07.

It's always the same with him. "Yeah it was my fault, won't happen again, biiiig promise". And then, well, it happens again. And again. And again.
He should cut down the excuses and work on his play. After all, he is very talented guy who could really excel with the right coaching.
