Should Romo be Traded?

If dallas had the first overall pick in next years draft to select Andrew Luck, I'd trade the over-rated NON leader Tony Romo in a second

Over-rated and Luck in the same sentence.....so true.

I guess we should get ready though, there will mindless ignorance like this for the next several months. And its just further proof of how dumb this fan base is.

Sorry but I dont see Romo as a leader at all and he has thrown way 2 many costly interceptions

Refer yourself to my leadership thread, which keeps getting bumped on down to the 2nd page for garbage threads like this one. As a matter of fact, I think I'll go bump my own thread.

thats part of my plan,

1st, You should have top 5 pick in 1st round
2nd Trade Romo for a 1st rounder, and at least a 2nd rounder or 3rd this year, and a conditional pick next year

Then you will have a
1.
1.
2.
2nd or 3rd
3rd
4th

If you have the 1st overall or 2nd pick overall in first round, then, with my thoughts above you will have 5 picks in top 100. Five!

One other thing you could do, depending on where the raiders pick, (the patriots have 2 number one picks, I hear they either want a top QB or the RB from Alabama. If raiders pick is in top 12, you could trade down with new england, if your pick is top 1st or 2nd overall, you could trade with new england. Get their 2 number ones and possibly a 3rd.

Then, you would have
1. Raiders pick if top 10
1. Pick for Romo
1. New Englands pick, 25th to 32nd probably
2.
2 or 3 for tony romo
3
3 new england
4.
5.
6.
6.
7.

You could trade one of your 6th rounders packing with new englands first rounder and move up to about 22nd to 24th, maybe get another player like Dez.

Then, doing this you would have 8 picks in top 100. You could possibly if you want to, trade one of 2nd or 3rd for future pick like new england does.

You could reload by rebuilding through the draft that way. With one of future picks in 2011, you could trade for a veteran QB or whatever you need, at same time, you could with one of those number 1 picks, take the big QB from Arkansas. Need I remind you, the steelers picked big ben with the 11th overall pick.

With 7 to 8 picks in top 100 you could easily get a top OL, top DE, top CB, and S, while picking up a very good QB, while at same time, signing free agent Mankins.

Also, remember that the steelers offensive line was kinda set when big ben came in, so all big ben had to do was play smart football.

Just a thought, but i imagine most of you will shoot it down.

It all depends on who the top head coach is in 2011 too. He might want to start with a young QB too, and trade some players like Barber,etc.. Granted, you probably couldnt get too much for barber now, but maybe a 4th from Miami, since sparano knows him and jeff ireland.

Romo isn't the problem but if I can get a top 5 pick for him I would do it. Or a mid 1st and 2nd I would do it.

You guys would traded Peyton Manning also after 4 years.

I like it-- and it's not an "attack the OP" answer like the so called "expert" homers above you. :laugh2:

no way I would trade Romo, just remember the Quincy Carter, Vinny Testaverde, Drew Bledsoe days. IMO, what they need to do is get rid of both OG, and RT Marc Colombo, move Free to the right side, draft the top LT in the draft and go after the top 2 guards on FA or by trade. If we fix the OL and change the coaching staff the team wil be OK.

Don't flame but really if you were offered a First rounder for Romo would you take it

I'd have to get a lot more than we gave for RW 11, especially since RW 11 has reverted to form. :banghead:

Of course NOT!! .. what if you have a QB like Leinart or Rusell ... Cmon Romo is a very good QB and I hope he wins it all here.

So, I guess Joe took my advice and passed the pipe to you.

First, Romo isn't going to be traded. As disappointed as Jones may be with this team, he still remembers the QB wasteland that was Dallas between Aikman and Romo. This is not a QB friendly draft; trade Romo and Dallas is useless for two years plus.

Secondly, what do you think Oakland and NE are going to want for either one of their picks, not just one. C'mon, this is real life, not Madden.

I know everyone looks at what NE has this year, and believes they could do the same. NE got to where they are in 2011 based upon moves for the last three years. While it's nice to dream and drool over such fantasies, it ain't happening.

What? And just hope and pray the Cowboys find someone even close to as good as Romo?

No thanks.
