Should Romo get a new deal only if Dallas makes the playoffs?

Or If he can accomplish two out of the three things below? I can see the Cowboys being a playoff team he accomplishes two out of the three.

1. Have a Good Game in Philadephia against the Eagles on Sunday Night Football that leads to a Win

2. Have a Good Game against the Chicago Bears Defense

3. Have a Good Enough Game to beat the New England Patriots on the Road

i don't think you should take the success of the team as a huge factor here. If he performs well but no one else does.. then we don't make the playoffs and therefore he wouldn't get signed? What if the Defense falls off the map again?

romo is the real deal, i have no doubts about it. Sign him now or later .. that don't matter,, just sign him!

I don't think we should wait that long, he does well tomorrow I should like to see him signed to a long term deal pretty soon there after.

It would nice to see the Cowboys come out of the BYE with their PAID FOR-FRANCHISE QB

Isn't New England a home game?

Yes it is, and it's a good thing too. I'd hate to have our communications cut off just when things are going good for us.

Get real. Romo's success will be on a higher plane than your criteria. Romo will get a new contract, because there is no one to take his place. The only question that remains is how much.

Unless he just goes right into the toilet, Romo should get a new deal regardless of if we make the playoffs or not. If we don't make the playoffs it won't be because of him.

If Romo leads this team to 11 or more wins with games remaining on the schedule, he'll be signed to a new contract before the final game OF the regular season and well-before the first playoff game.

But the Organization has to benefit in some way for Romo to get a new deal because how he plays is one of the main factors in the outcome of a football game. You just don't give a QB a new deal because he has attractive STATS, the team itself has to benefit from Romo's performance. Like when Mcnabb was signed to a 10 year deal, it was because he had led the Eagles to the NFC championship in just 3 yesrs not because he threw a certain number of TD's or a certain amount of passing yards.

I think he should get a deal if he plays well against the Dolphins...I mean if he produces a phenominal first half, I would sign him in the locker room at half time....I think that we need to sign him and start focusing on other positions on this team...This kid is truly blessed with talent and just seems to act cool under pressure. You can't coach his talents or intangiables....

They have a good D, FWIW.

But yeah, I would at least wait a couple of weeks. Waiting 'till the end of the season would be murder, especially if he plays well, so it's better to sign him as early as possible before the FA market starts getting closer.

Well the defense couldn't have been that good because they haven't been in the playoffs
