i don't think you should take the success of the team as a huge factor here. If he performs well but no one else does.. then we don't make the playoffs and therefore he wouldn't get signed? What if the Defense falls off the map again?

romo is the real deal, i have no doubts about it. Sign him now or later .. that don't matter,, just sign him!

But the Organization has to benefit in some way for Romo to get a new deal because how he plays is one of the main factors in the outcome of a football game. You just don't give a QB a new deal because he has attractive STATS, the team itself has to benefit from Romo's performance. Like when Mcnabb was signed to a 10 year deal, it was because he had led the Eagles to the NFC championship in just 3 yesrs not because he threw a certain number of TD's or a certain amount of passing yards.

I think he should get a deal if he plays well against the Dolphins...I mean if he produces a phenominal first half, I would sign him in the locker room at half time....I think that we need to sign him and start focusing on other positions on this team...This kid is truly blessed with talent and just seems to act cool under pressure. But yeah, I would at least wait a couple of weeks. Waiting 'till the end of the season would be murder, especially if he plays well, so it's better to sign him as early as possible before the FA market starts getting closer.
