On a local tv radio show today, a fan brought up in interesting subject. The Giants are trying to get Strahan back with them. Should Strahan be allowed back in the NFL, (is there a rule against someone like Strahan that went to Cowboys camp, along with Eagles, Commanders, etc) seeing their formations etc?

A friend of mine said that Strahan went strictly to every team the Giants played this year, I am not sure about that, but what if Strahan did, and saw secret plays and formations aginst the teams the Giants play this year. Is that legal and should Strahan be allowed back to tell the Giants coaches those plays, secrets, etc??????????

I think you raise a valid point.

I doubt Strahan is smart enough to remember everything he saw.

Whats stopping him from calling all his boys and telling them everything he sees? I think it's just as damaging, if at all, if he comes back or not.

thats exactly my point, take both things, him coming back, getting some secrets, seeing formations and plays, THATS NOT RIGHT TO ALLOW HIM TO DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NFL teams allowed him to attend practices.

If they are that paranoid of espionage they should have never had him come.

You do know that they put these preseason games on TV with audio nowadays ya know.

LOL.

This is like saying the guys we cut today are now not allowed to play for any other teams this season.

Sounds kind of silly doesn't it?

They could be working for the enemy...

to me its another form of cheating, that in itself shouldnt be allowed to happen like the commissioner goodell said,

its very odd seeing that strahan retired and said he didnt want to play again;

remember he got onto farve i believe and said when your retired you should stay retired, (at least i think he said that)

then all of a sudden, he gets on Fox sports thing, goes to the majority of the nfl teams that the giants play against this year.

then he has a divorce trial coming up with his ex wife, he owes about 5 million or so, he only gets 2 million from fox this year;

his ex wife might get 6 millioin in a trial coming up this tuesday

he went to majority of all teams giants play, saw their formations, talked to certain playerrs, most likely getting their input on how they beat certain giant players, along with watching practices,

now he wants to go back to the giants and play with that knowledge, along wiht him still being a good defensive end, that possibly help the giants, thats to me is wrong, if all of the above statements are totally true, and he got inside knowledge of teams plays, their players, etc,

I think the difference is the Giants called him because of an emergency situation Brett Farve retired and then after the draft they picked up 2 QB and here comes Brett I have the itch you guys should have came after me more.

DC, I understand what you saying about players that are cut, I agree with that,

any team is allowed to pick them up, learn things;

heck some teams even do that, sign players a week or so that have been cut from the team they are fixing to play, so they can possibly get some hints on teams formations, secrets, etc,

what i am saying is this, i am not against strahan coming back, he should be allowed to come back if he wants to play,

what i am against, he was allowed to come into the cowboys camp, talk to players and coaches, see formations, get inside information from some players possibly, and now he would be allowed to give that info to the giants

if he did, again i am not totally sure, but a friend of mine told me, Strahan strictly asked to interview teams that the giants play against this year, and he turned down some teams to visit that wasnt on the giants schedule this year, why did he do that?????????

thats what im against;

I think a league rule should be set, if a player retires, he cant go into media network and view teams and players, then come back into the nfl that same year, with all of that knowledge and info

you didnt see Farve going to Fox sports or such and viewing opposing teams that the green bay packers were playing.

put it this way, what if a certain play the cowboys have that we havent seen, is called, and the giants know where it is going, how it starts, and shuts that play down, or makes a big interception, like they read the play from the start, and this play was only allowed certain media personnel to view

what would you say then?

What knowledge? He wasn't in the meetings and I am sure he wasn't being handed a playbook as he walked around training camp practice.

He wasn't even there scouting the team. He was there as a celebrity just like Magic and Jamie Foxx. They got as much 'inside info' as he got.

doesn't matter, without osi on the other side to draw attention, strahan would be lucky to put up 6 sacks. flo or colombo can easily handle him 1 on 1 at this point in his career.

well all i know is that this subject was touched on a talk radio show by a fan that called in, and the sports director said thats a very good vaiid point, about strahan being allowed to be on other teams camps and watching them, now he wants to come back to the giants,

the sports director said the called made a key issue and question about strahan being in on the cowboys camp and if that was legal if he went back to the giants,

i didnt catch all of the broadcast, but thought you fans would like to know and see what you think

The only thing weirder than this thread is a six-year-old dressed up as Lt. Columbo.

Why does it matter if he comes back from retirement? He could still tell them the info even if he doesn't come back.
