Should the Cowboys bring back S/CB Israel Mukuamu?

Guy gets cut from Carolina's practice squad and we are talking about signing him.

Mukuamu would be better than most of our current starters and for sure backups. Plus, Carolina was in the playoffs this year and beat us. We weren't. We are way behind so many teams because of the dumb decisions by all these coaches and front office.
 
To tell the truth I never understood why Mukuamu didn’t get some kind of look in Dallas . Certainly seemed to have more talent than Carson to be exact .

Nashon Wright leaves Dallas now he’s FACING Puka Nacua among others in the divisional round owing 5 picks this year .

That one nobody saw coming. He looked like a bust. Now he's looking the part of a guy that can play at a high level. I guess AL Harris just needed more time with him and the right scheme. Wright would have been our best db this year btw. Let that sink in. That's how awful we are. Wright was elite in comparison to what we had.

We should have kept both Nashon Wright at CB and Israel Mukuamu at S. We would have been better of with them and set for years to come. Jerry and his coaches are a bunch of idiots. Even my old high school buddies could make better decisions than them.

Mukuamu is in the UFL now. He'll be playing spring football starting the end of March.

Yes, as of late 2025, Israel Mukuamu is a free agent after being released by the Carolina Panthers from their practice squad in November 2025, following earlier stints with the Cowboys where he signed a one-year deal in March 2025 before being cut in August 2025. He's now testing the free agency market again, looking for his next opportunity after being released by two teams within months.

His recent journey:

  • Early 2025: Signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys.

S/CB, Israel Mukuamu, 6'4", 215 lbs, 4.46 40 time. Mukuamu was a nice backup Safety and emergency Cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys the previous 4 seasons (Drafted in 2021). The Cowboys gave him a 1 year contract extension exactly a year ago in early 2025 for 1 year, $1 million and only $600k guaranteed after Israel Mukuamu has proven from 2021 - 2024 to be a very good backup S/CB, plus a big contributor on Special Teams.

I thought Mukuamu was better than the backups (and even some starters) the Cowboys decided to keep at Safety, and it showed throughout this season. It certainly would help if Mukuamu was back playing for the Cowboys since he currently is a free agent.

Should the Dallas Cowboys make an offer to bring Israel Mukuamu back as a solid backup at S/CB but a solid contributor on Special Teams?

I'd rather bring in a known playmaker. We gotta quit gambling on upside and get some dogs on that side of the ball like QW said.

I can at least see why you'd think this way. I tend to think about things my own way as well. Sometimes, my thinking works out, sometimes it doesn't.
 
same ol fans love protecting that mediocrity.


stop with the bring backs. we re getting a new DC, new scheme, some of the old players dont fit. thats ok, time to start churning. if Dallas is serious, we re out 3 years, start finding new players.

you guys love the mediocrity so much its hard to let it go.

You mean the 5th rounder who needs time to be NFL ready? And then started this season on IR and only got activated on Oct. 18th? And needs a full off season to be ready for next year? That Caelon Carson?
