As the trade deadline fast (too fast!) approaches, do any of you feel that the Cowboys should be active and make a move or two, or stand pat with what they've got?

Should they inquire about a #1 pick for Larry Fitzgerald from Arizona?

Contact the linebacker-starved Bengals regarding Bobby Carpenter?

Shop Julius Jones?

Or keep a 4-0 team intact?

Not a bad idea. I wouldn't give up Cleveland's pick for him though.

If we did that, we'd then be the ones that are Linebacker-starved.

Incase you haven't noticed, we really don't have much depth there.

Shop Julius Jones?

Who would want him?

they arnt going to trade him, nor do we need him

he isnt anywhere near 100%, so nobody is going to give us any value for him, and it stupid for us to trade him just to trade him and get a 2nd day pick or soemthing in return

Shop Julius Jones?

why? and who replaces him?

Or keep a 4-0 team intact?

uh, yes

1. Why? We're just fine at WR(at least for now).

2. BC is a darn good special teams player, and in case you haven't noticed, he at least gives us LB depth. 1st round bust? Maybe, but he's just fine with his role on this team.

3. What would we get? A WR? CB? I don't think so.

4. Yes-we've played very well enough to be 4-0, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.:star:

The only position that I would entertain, if it was up to me, is CB and WR.

With CB, it just seems to me that we are bug bitten. Newman starts playing and Henry goes down. I am fine with Reeves but a little insurance sure wouldn't hurt.

With WR, only if it was a Fitzgerald or RWilliams for the future good of the team. Or if we were to learn that TGlenn is out for the remainder of the season.

It would have to be one of those "to good to pass up" type. Otherwise, stay put and lets ride this out. We are 4-0 and looking better week to week. We still have Tank, Newman/Henry tandom, and TGlenn to look forward to returning.

Getting Tank, Newman/Henry tandom, and TGlenn playing would in a way be like trading. We don't have them on the field right now but they would come at the right time to give this team even a bigger boost to make some real noise in the playoffs.

I would NOT trade any current player for a future draft pick. I might, however, trade a player for another player at a position of need, and I might trade a draft pick for a player. At this point, the only trades we should be considering are ones that would help us THIS season.

So we'd have to give up a high draft pick and all we'd get back in return is THE most overrated player in the NFL, who would then want a new contract?

Not to mention he makes TO look like Mother Teresa in the lockerroom.

I'd sooner drink my own urine then trade ANYTHING for Dante "Don't spit on me" Hall.

If we would highly consider taking a WR with our 1st, then I would be happier using that pick on Fitz as he's a proven top notch WR. But, I would rather use both 1st rounders to shore up the defense. I'm still not sold on it. I'm not great when it comes to college players, but going by mock draft charts, I would love to land Kenny Phillips (?) and a solid CB (Justin King?) in the 1st round.

Personally speaking if you could get Fitzgerald for a number 1 that would be a tremendous trade. Remember, our recievers will be old in a few seasons and Fitzgerald will be a top 5 reciever in the game by then. You also have to remember that Fitz got drafted when he was 20 or something close to that. Hes only 23 right now, thats about the age of 2nd year players. Personally, I think this would be a no brainer if Arizona was dumb enough to do it.

As for Cincy, I dont know if you know this but Cincy never makes trade. Parcells joked about that during the pre game show week 1 of the Monday Night game with the Ravens.

Julius??? Nobody wants Julius. Even if we wanted to trade him he has no trade value. None!!!

The only drawback about staying pat at 4-0 is if you become stagnet others could catch up. Most of the good teams have been invaseaive[sp] and stayed one step ahead of the game. Standing pat will only let others catch up. But, besides Fitzgerald there is nothing out there that we need.

Rack, dont know if you seen the game against Carolina but if you take away his foolish pentalys he absolutley shut down Steve Smith. 1 catch for 9 yards. He has talent he just needs to get off his high horse and worry about being a football player and not self procliaming himself as the best DB in NFL history. It would be a gamble but, hey, we have an awesome shot at the SuperBowl so why not. I would not do it for a 1st though. A 3rd-4th yes.

If you can get Larry Fitzgerald for a late 1st round pick, you gotta be all over that.
I don't think Glenn will play again. If TO goes down this offense is severely compromised.
Fitzgerald is only 24, already has a 100+ reception season under his belt, and has been a pro bowler.
Size-wise, if not physique-wise, he is nearly identical to TO.
If you can guarantee you can get a player of Fitzgerald's caliber with a late 1st round pick, don't the do deal. Thats a nearly impossible guarantee, though.
Pair him up with Romo and its lights out.
AZ being dumb enough to do this deal is a whole other matter though.

If the Cards would take the Boys 1st for Fitz I would jump all over it. I would probably even trade Cleveland's for him. Dallas needs to draft a WR next year, why not get one that's ready to play immediately.

BTW, when I say trading Cleveland's pick, I dont mean both 1st rounders.

Also, where did this come from? Is there some rumor that he is available? I havent heard anything. If he is available it would explain why they are such a crappy franchise.

It's real easy to just look at the stat line and come to the conclusion that he "Shut down" Steve Smith. Nevermind that they doubled him early and often and that they actually got pressure on Delhomme (3 sacks). Not to mention that they really didn't even pass much cuz they did HAVE to pass much with Foster running for 122 yards (foster had more carries then Delhomme had attempts). Nah, it was all Hall, on his own.

WHen he takes Steve Smith ONE ON ONE (like Newman has) and then shuts him down, then you can talk about this overrated POS all you want.

Completely disagree. If we have a chance to get an ELITE WR, then yeah, go for it. But any of the next tier WRs wouldn't be much of an upgrade and would have a hard time winning even the 3rd WR spot.

As for Hall, he's an *ss. It's one thing to sign a guy like TO who is one of the best at his position ever, but to trade for a guy like Hall??? Great athlete, but the guy gets beat worse that Jerry Cooney.

Sorry, couldnt think of anything better than the "great white hope." God it was painful to watch him get punished.

Another trade thread?

I admit this one seems a little more thought out but whats the deal?

We are a 4-0 team with arguably the best offense in the league with an improving defense from week to week.

If it aint broke guys...

I see what you are saying. I dont want them to draft a wr for the sake of drafting one, but if there is a "top tier" wr available worth the pick they are at then I think they need to take one. The same goes for CB. Or even LT. Anyway, next years draft will be fun because they have 2 1st and few 'needs'.
