Should they try Osa at DE?

Should they try Osa at DE?

Especially since Winfrey is coming back.

Clowney is the only DE that isn’t undersized in this group.

I think he could be a DeMarcus Lawrence type DE.
It would seem like a waste to not have the 3 of them out there. The Cowboys may now really want to consider the 3-4 switch. They have the players that can occupy the 3 linemen spots and des that could be the outside backers.

Yeah, Kneeland was supposed to be the new Lawrence, right @Kingofholland ? I hope he's not another bust, bro. We'll see if he can figure it out. We need someone to step up.

No he has terrible gap integrity. Teams would gash him to the outside. Hes nothing more than a nickle DT.

And this is my biggest hesitation with the trade— we still don’t have anyone that knows how to set the edge on the perimeter

It will be harder for teams to run against this interior, but if we don’t have perimeter players that can set, fill, and tackle— teams will likely just focus on exploiting and creasing us there

Yup. He's 280. Were big on the d line. Exe can give us a speed rusher. The dts can stop them from stepping g up.

That's what they'll do.

Williams, Osa and Clark are all 3 technique. While Williams has played NT, he’s better in a 3-4 that lets him penetrate more easily. He’s a good psss rusher and great at stopping runners behind the line.

Also, changing to a 3-4 mid season is crazy

Agree here 100%. Does anyone teach these players about gap control? Basic professional football regarding this....what the heck man.

I was thinking that when the trade was made. Run a 3-4. We can use the draft and free agency to grab a CB, LB and DE as Jerry needs to go all out for the next 2 years.

Osa Clark and Williams at DT, Clowney EZE Fowler at outside backer with Overshown and the Cincy guy inside? Something like that? The DL depth is a little light. That’s a big switch.

It’s ridiculous.

Football 101 in Youth Football. Push the play inside. Do not let the RB run around you.
Both Kneeland and Williams constantly get pushed inside by TE’s that are 25lbs lighter. They act like they aren’t expecting it. Both should be benched for at least a quarter. They wouldn’t be missed at all.
