No he has terrible gap integrity. Teams would gash him to the outside. Hes nothing more than a nickle DT.

man i’ve been saying this for the past i don’t remember weeks. YES i second this.Should they try Osa at DE?
Especially since Winfrey is coming back.
Clowney is the only DE that isn’t undersized in this group.
I think he could be a DeMarcus Lawrence type DE.
you know I was thinking about that...I was actually thinking maybe, just maybe we can switch to a 3-4 on some downs. clark at DT (not true NT) williams and Osa at DEs, who are 3-tech, bigger and used to lining up against guards and in between guards and tackles. ...move Eze to OLB and Clowney the other OLB (ala ware), wilson and overshown in the middle.Should they try Osa at DE?

I think they could go full Pete Carroll's version of the 4-3 they ran in Seattle with Gus Bradley and Dan Quinn, especially from 2011-12 - they had 3 300lb. DT's and a 250-255lb. Edge on their 4 man front. I've ALWAYS thought Osa was too light to consistently hold up in the middle. I always viewed him as more of a 5T type. So, on 1st (and maybe 2nd and long), you could have:Williams, Osa and Clark are all 3 technique. While Williams has played NT, he’s better in a 3-4 that lets him penetrate more easily. He’s a good psss rusher and great at stopping runners behind the line.
Also, changing to a 3-4 mid season is crazy
Just saw yesterday we’re going to use 5 man fronts a lot more. So, 5/2/4I think they could go full Pete Carroll's version of the 4-3 they ran in Seattle with Gus Bradley and Dan Quinn, especially from 2011-12 - they had 3 300lb. DT's and a 250-255lb. Edge on their 4 man front. I've ALWAYS thought Osa was too light to consistently hold up in the middle. I always viewed him as more of a 5T type. So, on 1st (and maybe 2nd and long), you could have:
Edge/WDE - EZE, Clowney, Fowler (all in that 250-260lb. range)
DT - Clark
DT - Williams
5T/SDE - Osa (280lb.+)
SHOULD help the run D a little (IF the LB's improve their gap recognition). Just my guess at what happens.
I thought Aaron Whitecotton was supposed to be this great D-line coach....Agree here 100%. Does anyone teach these players about gap control? Basic professional football regarding this....what the heck man.
Cowboys PR. It's the best in the league.I thought Aaron Whitecotton was supposed to be this great D-line coach....
We are in desperate need of finding our next DLaw or Tolbert.Yeah, Kneeland was supposed to be the new Lawrence, right @Kingofholland ? I hope he's not another bust, bro. We'll see if he can figure it out. We need someone to step up.
Clowney and EZ had good games. LBs and Safeties had REALLY BAD games. LOL Can't wait to plug Williams, Wilson, and Overshown into the front 7 to see what happens. You think will see any 5 man 3-4 fronts with our strength being at DT all the sudden? We are in desperate need of finding our next DLaw or Tolbert.
I think EZE may be our next Pro-Bowl level edge rusher, but we only have trash on the strong side.
Unfortunately, we might have to wait until the first round of the draft to find that guy. I don't think playing Osa out there is much of an option. It's a very different position. Luckily, Clowney is coming around a bit.
Vs the cardinals we actually seem to have played some 3-4 looks. Versus the Cardinals, I've noticed 5 guys on the line of scrimmage more than we have all year.It would seem like a waste to not have the 3 of them out there. The Cowboys may now really want to consider the 3-4 switch. They have the players that can occupy the 3 linemen spots and des that could be the outside backers.
If you blindfolded Murray and told him to just run full speed towards the line of scrimmage every play, he would do you more good than what he's been doing this season.LBs and Safeties had REALLY BAD games
Nah......he would run in the other direction. Surely there are practice squad players out there to get that are a better option than this group of LBs.If you blindfolded Murray and told him to just run full speed towards the line of scrimmage every play, he would do you more good than what he's been doing this season.
