Should they try Osa at DE?

It would seem like a waste to not have the 3 of them out there. The Cowboys may now really want to consider the 3-4 switch. They have the players that can occupy the 3 linemen spots and des that could be the outside backers.
They definitely need to switch to a 3-4.

For the record, I don't hate the idea of Osa getting some DE reps.

Should they try Osa at DE?

Especially since Winfrey is coming back.

Clowney is the only DE that isn’t undersized in this group.

I think he could be a DeMarcus Lawrence type DE.
Can’t be any worst than sam and kneeland.

I think we will see more 5 man fronts, with 3 DTs Eze and Clowney essentially playing OLB, if not Eberflus should definitely be fired.

Starters Clowney/Clark/Williams/EZE, DT depth Winfrey, Thomas and Osa, DE depth Houston, Fowler and Osa at end as well. Sam Williams and Kneeland can kick rocks.

I think we could see a lot of 5 man fronts with all 3 DT's at the same time.
This is what I'm hoping. Go 5-2 on early downs with Eze, Odighizuwa, Clark, Williams and Clowney as the primary linemen and Overshown and Wilson as the primary linebackers. We don't have to rush five every time when we do that. We can drop a lineman into a zone. But it creates a power front against the run and offenses will have to figure out whose coming against the pass.

We tried some five-man fronts against Arizona, but couldn't cover well enough and probably rushed five a few too many times because we had had trouble getting pressure.

At this point all hands on deck, put all 3 out there and see if the DL is better but the secondary has s still in shambles. Nobody back there can cover worth a lick.

Worth a try. At this point try everything

Schotty openly stated at the pc yesterday that yes, we will be running much more of that 5 man front like we did against the Cardinals.

As others said, it's effectively a one-gap 34 like Wade used to run.

Osa Clark and Williams at DT, Clowney EZE Fowler at outside backer with Overshown and the Cincy guy inside? Something like that? The DL depth is a little light. That’s a big switch.
Yeah some alignment like that. Starters would be in place, but you're right in needing a few more big bodies. Solomon Thomas fits the DE 3-4 position.

Yeah, Kneeland was supposed to be the new Lawrence, right @Kingofholland ? I hope he's not another bust, bro. We'll see if he can figure it out. We need someone to step up.
Lawrence wasn’t Lawrence until about year 3 or 4 so considering Kneeland is a 2nd round pick I think next year will kinda tell us what he is going forward.

Everything points to jag right now though but it’s still early & it takes time for some players to develop.

I just saw that he passed away!

That is so sad.. Wow. Thoughts and prayers to the family. He just scored a TD too.

Better to switch to 3-4.

Clowny, Clark, Wiliams, Osa, EZE with Overshown and Logan at LB
Not sure you’d want to do that at this point in the season and I’m betting Clark, Osa and Williams won’t all 3 be on this team next year

Williams 100%
Osa 100%
Clark 70%

NO

5 Man Down Lineman with Osa Clark and Williams all right there in the middle...

Eze-Osa- Clark -Q.Williams-Houston

You can play with a lot of different sets but I want 5 down lineman I want the linebackers and safeties closer to the line of scrimmage we've seen it work there's no reason they can't experiment with different fronts and whatnot You know substitutions but that's what I'd like to see get Clowney his amount of reps as much people hate Sam Williams he's been in on some big plays this year regardless if he's been inconsistent and a knucklehead he can make plays...

Yeah but just as easily with some restructures they all three can be here and maybe finally Jerry will realize when he sees an 8 game preview that if it was working you just keep it regardless of how you want to do the defense next year they could be used...

I get why you'd say that but it's easily if Clark wants to be here they can do a massive restructure they can fit this all in other teams do it we've said that about the cap and how other teams always push the can down the road devoid gears the stuff the Eagles do..

I'm equally betting that there's a good chance Pickens won't be here so they can sign Williams so they can put more effort into the defense put resources into the defense We need Pickens less than we need the defense to get better fast..

We've already seen it the other way around I don't care how good your offense is they almost have to be perfect unless the defense gets fixed that's the only way it gets fixed quick..
