Should Tony Play? Really?

The flak jacket will help immensely. I'm not sure why players don't wear them all the time.

Probably too restrictive.

You would think, but after watching this it seems like it's no worse than wearing pads.

They all will make the right decision...Tony, coaches, training staff....DOCTORS...

No, it's not up to Jerry. :laugh1:

Yes, he 100% absolutely positively should.

The only concern that anyone should have is the lung.

If the lung is good, he should go.

Broken ribs alone haven't been something that's an automatic "no go".

Just not that sure it's the best thing for him to play, in his condition ,this early in the season.

These things tend to work out OK. Sure there's a risk, but life is risk and playing football is even more risky.

I'm no expert the following is JMO........

He's going to have excellent protective gear and the chances of turning this into a more serious injury, one that ends his season or god forbid his life are probably slim.

This isn't exactly unprecedented. QBs have played with this injury before. And probably with less effective protective gear and meds.

Perhaps most important and relative to the question of should he play Monday, is the unfortunate fact that this injury isn't going to heal quickly. Sitting out Monday isn't enough. He'd have to miss the next two at least to perhaps have a seriously reduced chance for reinjury against NE.

We can't afford that. We greatly increase our chances of dropping to 1-3 without him and then would have to head up to NE to basically save our season.

Don't worry, he'll be fine Monday Night.

The lung already healed up and from reports his type was not that serious.

Romo is going to be wearing more armor than Saladin on his way out of Damascus.

He'll be fine if he can take the pain.

If I'm making the call he's out until after the bye.

ya right and maybe go 0-2 without him? ya uh kiss the playoffs good bye, losing to the skins sinks us in the east and then add losing to another nfc opponent in the lions? dude why are you always so negative it's like you want this team to suck and fall on its face.

I was talking to my wife who happens to be an RN and she says the lung could heal with in 2 days, which obviously it did. She said if it was collapsed he would have to have some tube put in. She said no doctor in his right mind would let him play if they felt he was at risk for further damage. I highly doubt he punctures the lung again unless he breaks another rib. She was explaining to me that it happens all at the same time (punctured lung/ broken rib). I trust what she says as this is her field.

we can't afford to lose to the skins and the Lions. People keep saying lets sit them lets sit them blah blah blah. Are you guys freaking serious??? The skins would be 3-0 and 2-0 in the division it would set us 1-2 and 0-1 in the division that means the skins would have beaten 3 teams all in the NFC giving them and edge for the playoffs. Then we have the Lions the following week who have beaten 1 NFC team and 1 AFC team. Do you guys really believe we beat both those teams who are playing well without our starters? I don't that would leave us at 1-3 and 1-2 vs NFC teams how does that work in our favor for the playoffs? What a joke.

As much as I like KO we need more from him, and just because Holley caught 3 passes does not mean he will do it again. Heck we have no Idea what Harris can do and we don't even know if Robinson can play. Id Dez and Romo and Miles can play you beat your *** you play them!!! This ain't Basketball with 100+ plus games! I can't believe this garbage I am reading about oh let's sit em! That to me sounds like your giving up!!!

Do fish piss in the water? Yes he should play if he can withstand the pain. This ain't the MLB where you tweak your ankle and end up on the DL for 10 or more days. PLAY!!!!!

Listen to the latest Romo interview on the team website. In it he states the Cowboys' doctors don't even know when the punctured lung happened.

Maybe they need to read here and find out.

My concern isn't whether the lung has healed. It was a minor puncture. It's not about how he'll handle the pain either. You have medication for that. I worry about him getting hit on that rib fracture and more severely puncturing the lung.

If a doctor tells me that can happen, I would never let him play if I'm running the team. Sorry. I don't give a crap about losing the next two games. I'm not sending a kid in there with that kind of risk.

I'm not so sure he should play and I'm not referring to his health. He's going to be in pain even with an injection and he's going to most likely play more conservatively than he normally would (he'd be crazy if he didn't). Add in the body armor, which I'm sure is fairly restrictive regarding his throwing motion, and I'm not sure an injured Romo gives us a better chance than a healthy Kitna. A combination of the injury and the armor might screw up his delivery too much. Just a thought.

As much as i would love to have Romo playing and winning against the Skins i am not sure at the risk of Romo dying out there. I don’t want to see that. Every hit he takes i am going to cringe. Not sure i could enjoy the offense being on the field. The Skins Defense is nothing to play with. These boys hit and hit hard.

I guess the new vest will help (excuse my ignorance) but i don’t see how that would help stop the force of landing on the ground and all your innards pressing against the fractured bone.

I would start Kitna (let him take the early sacks) and bring in Romo later to be the hero.

Just a little friendly advice. Stop trying to be cute with more of the ******* taco crap. It makes you look like you have the I.Q. of a taco.

I think Romo's injuries might have been... exaggerated a tad bit (punctured lungs do NOT heal in a few days) most likely as a PR stunt to change tony's goat image into a hero image and restore some of the confidence of the team in him after the previous week's meltdown. Nothing helps a leadership image more than sacrificing your body for the team. So yeah, I think he'll play.

 do we know for sure when the lung and rib injuries happened.......he is a newlywed after all........:p: things get rough
