Should we be scared of the Commanders?

All the Commander fans pretty much think that their team is good enough to win it all this year. Personally, their additions of Randle El and Brandon Lloyd hardly scare me. They believe these two are gonna make their offense explosive. Are you kidding? Both are good enough to be third recievers in a given offense. I was just curious, do you guys fear the Skins? Or are you just laughing when the Skins fans think they have the second coming of Joe Gibbs' old teams?

Let's look at it this way.

QB: Bledsoe is better than Brunell
RB: Portis is better than Jones
WR: Owens, Glenn, and Crayton are more dangerous than Moss, Randle El, and Lloyd
TE: Witten is better than Cooley

Ok, maybe they have a better running back, but obviously their offense isn't as explosive as ours. Dallas will also have a younger, much more explosive defense as well. Newman, Ware, Spears, Canty, Williams, Carpenter. The Skins don't have this many young, athletic stars.

I can imagine something like this from Skins nation come the end of week 2:

Joe Gibbs teams are at thier best when the off. lines gel.
The skins off. line was dominating in the second game against us.
But if we can shore up our run defense thier passing attack does not scare me.
If we play the skins with a full deck I like our chances.

Fear a Commanders team? Never have never will. Did they own us last year? Yep, no doubt about it. But, strike fear? Puh-lease.

We've owned the SKins for what now 7 years? And all of a sudden they are supposed to invoke fear after winning two straight? I don't think so. Washington always has been and always will be Dallas' b****. There will be eventual hiccups in the pattern, but overall Dallas owns the Skins as well as the Giants and Eagles. Don't beleive me? Look at the overall head to head records between the Cowboys and EVERY OTHER TEAM in the division. Dallas owns every one of them by a long shot. Fear the Commanders.....pshhhhh.

Respectful, yes. Wary, yes.

Fearful??? BWWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I agree.

I don't think they're going to be as good as they were last year. They had a lot of synergy last year, the total was more than the sum of its parts. Not sure they find that chemistry again next year.
I think they are pretty thin at a lot of positions too, QB being one of the big ones. Not that we aren't thin there also, but I think Brunell is a little more fragile than DB.
I think we have more talent top to bottom but we'll see how well we put it together.

I think we should legitimately be a bit scared of every team in our division. No game will be a cakewalk by any wild stretch.

More than anything we need the team not to buy the hype that is exciting all of us to some degree.

Scared?

Bad choice of words.

Respectful, absolutely.

But when you play "scared", you lose.

The Skins are a solid team.

I do not believe they are a great team.

Last season they got a remarkably healthy season by the key figures and teams didn't account for Moss because he came out of next to nowhere. The team gelled and finished incredibly strong.

This off-season that have strengthened the offense quite a bit but have not added any real youth because the disdain for draft picks continue.

They have incredibly little depth anywhere.

But at season's end they were the best team in the NFCE by far and they didn't get worse this off-season. So if they continue to get breaks where health is a concern they will be a threat in the NFCE.

Playing the Giants, Eagles and Boy a total of 6 times makes a tall order for Brunell to stay healthy but Bledsoe faces the same concern.

Once we start going through the depth charts by the middle of pres-season I believe it will be readily apparent just how thin the Skins are.

Definitely not scared, but as said by others, we also shouldn't be taking them for granted. They proved last year that they can not only win a close one against us, but can also come out and dominate us. Hopefully the team will remember that and how it felt and use it as motivation this season.

Same as they thought last year... and the year before... and the year before... and the year before...

I was just curious, do you guys fear the Skins? Or are you just laughing when the Skins fans think they have the second coming of Joe Gibbs' old teams?

If they stay healthy, they'll be tough; if the injury bug bites, they'll struggle... so I look for them to be reasonably formidable out of the gate, but limp home down the stretch...
