Should we have drafted Steven Jackson?

Knowning that he (Parcell) really in his heart of hearts wants to install a power running game, should we have drafted Steven Jackson instead of JJ?

JJ had really 1/2 good season and that's it. Parcells likes MBIII type backs and that's what Jackson is....power with more speed and decent hands. Imaging what he would do in our system.

Parcells loves big RB's is a myth.

Martin, Morris, Meggett, JJ, MBIII.

MBIII is the biggest of them all.

With Jackson there would be no Spears.

I'd take MBIII as a starter over Jackson and his attitude anyday of the week. There are reasons why we didn't draft him and I'd be willing to bet that his attitude was a big part of that...

Thanks for the fresh thread.

You can predict this stuff. I'm starting a Cowboyszone gambling service. Like If Julius has a bad game, I'm taking wagers on the over/under of a combination of MB3 over Julius/ What has Parcells done to *** up Julius/ should we have drafted.... threads. Or if our FS's get burnt, you could wager on the number of times I whine like a girl about not getting Dwight Smith to Winky. We could have had wagering on Ware v. Merriman threads after Ware didn't register a sack and Merriman got 2 against the worst lines in the NFL, but that's cooled off since everyone's favorite hump-object got caught cheating.

Let me know what you guys think of this betting service.

Seriously, though, we should have drafted Merriman.

And stuck with Hogenbloom.

No, but they should have drafted Maroney. That guy is going to be fighting out LT and LJ for top back in the league the next ten years.

How many times are we going to ask this question? We did not draft him.

Your premise is all wrong! First, BP doesn't like BIG backs. He like's his RBs to be the size of Curtis Martin (approx. 5'11'' & 205lbs). Second, you're assuming that if we didn't draft JJ, that BP would have drafted SJ. BP has already stated that if he couldn't trade down, and been "forced" to use that 1st rd pick, he would have chosen Kevin Jones (RB Detroit). So, you're question should be KJ or JJ?

you mean the guy that had all of 14 yds on 4 carries yesterday? 33 on 13 carries the week before? other games with yard totals of 18, 38, 29, 34 & 37

not exactly somebody thats dominating the league

Dallas made a trade in that draft with Buffalo we took Jones in the 2nd rd and got Buffalo 1st rd pick in the following draft in which we got spears. Given this fact I think Dallas made the right move.

Have you seen the guy play? The guy has all the tools to be a "special" back. Once he is given the majority of snaps he will be a top back, I would expect that all will happen next season.

Steven Jackson and LJ both had rookie numbers similar to those because they all had veterans in front of them.
