Should we re-sign Leary?

Sign Leary and move Collins to right tackle.

I think we can because we still have Collins under contract and a cheap one at that. Collins has been very up-and-down. When he gets going, he's really good, but at other times he struggles. It might be time to consider him at RT in order to replace Free. I really like Leary's play thus far. I think he's one of the most unheralded players in the entire league. Not sure why another team didn't want this guy on their roster.

This team has multiple all pros and seven starter level OL. Considering their OL depth to be lacking is insanity.

He's a damn troll, ACF. He only talks of one issue, it's never anything else. He doesn't know football. He only knows how to harp on a single subject and hijack threads.

I think in order to answer we would need to know what the coaches think about Collins ability to be a RT.
Collins will ultimately want to play Tackle over Guard because Tackles make more money than guards.

My concern is Jerry probable had to guarantee Colin's a starting spot to get him to sign with us. He is playing on the cheap in hopes of getting that big contract in a few years from someone.

NE has been doing the OL carousel for years. They keep the guys that are elite talents and rotate out the guys that are declining or at or near their ceiling. I like Leary and he has been fortunate not to have an injury that sets off his knee condition but money and risk say you ride him this season and let some other team take the inherent risk he has reached his ceiling or is pretty close.

He is. But not with me. I love La'el, he is a freak athlete. This is why I posed this question, with the caveat that we push Collins out to RT.

Collins isn't underrated. I think he is overrated by many of the fans here. I'm hoping he learns and works on his technique, because the potential is there. Though we've seen a lot of players that are just too dumb to realize that potential.

Collins is only under contract through next year. IIRC he signed a 3 year deal at the max for UDFA.

Smart is a relative term. All the current OL starters (including Leary) I would say are more intelligent than Collins. The guy over-commits on blocks to blow people up rather than just getting the job done. When you over-commit like that, you set yourself up to wiff.
