Buehler kicked one in the Oakland game, it was good from around 40 yds

All kickers look alike....

Its doubtful a change is made now, but I can see next year being more of a competition.

Folk has value

next year is the best time to let buehler try to win the kicking job outright against folk. if buehler does great at kickoffs this year then maybe if he is good at fg in training camp next year then we can trade folk who will be in the last year of his contract. it also makes no sense to me to keep two kickers but thats the way the coaches want it. i think it will cost us in depth this year if we get into a pinch with injuries by midseason.

Thanks. You will have a big smile! Well, not as big as Bobby's as he will be staying.

I agree. I'm no Proctologist lover, but if you go back and watch the preseason games he has played better than Holland....and he's more versatile on the line.

I'm not convinced that we should keep a guy that can't kick into the endzone consistently. I could care less about his 40 or his bench deal at the combine!!

Deon is hurt at this moment and I think Crosslin deserves a roster spot.

You have GOT to be kidding me; were you watching the game?? Besides the fumble that he lost, he dropped a number of swing passes... the guy has hands of stone...

Crosslin will be fortunate if the Boys bring him back to the practice squad... frankly, I wouldn't...

At all in pre-season....

We all love Folk, but itd be good to have options....

The Boys needed to get Nick back in the groove, and he struggled a bit early in preseason...

Yeah I watched the game/s. What has Deon done? And speaking of fumbles...you mean the same guy that has coughed up how many now? Kitna from center.

1) Buehler makes the team with ease.

2) Crosslin blew any chance he had tonight with that crappy performance.

It's been stated several times that Buehler was kicking some short so the coverage teams could get some playtime/practice.

Once the regular season comes around, kickoffs will be a different story. One that ends far into the end zone.

Deon is a solid blocker and a strong ST player.

Now you're trying to change the subject... what has CROSSLIN done to deserve a spot on the 53 man roster??

Answer-- he has 11 carries for 44 yards, a robust 4.0 ypc average, with no TDs and 1 fumble lost... and he has 5 receptions for 21 yards, a robust 4.2 ypr average, with no TDs... most of these numbers run up against 2nd and 3rd teamers...

And for this meager production, you're ready to award him a spot on the 53 man roster?? I'll sleep better knowing that you have no say in personnel decisions for my favorite team...

Deon Anderson and Jon Kitna are not relevant to this discussion... Julius Crosslin is a decent blocker, but is no better than Anderson in that area... he isn't much of a threat as a ballcarrier, and is a liability in the passing game...

His kickoffs have tremendous hang time...just as important as distance.

That was intentional. I think that was pretty obvious, the coaches know he can boom it ( he had 2 kick offs in a row that went 5 or 6 yards deep in the end zone). After that the kicks were all high and I'm sure that was to give bubble players a chance to show off their coverage skills.

The coverage was a big issue last year, so they probably wanted to take every chance available.

Beuhler's leg strength will be a huge advantage this year. Your talking about adding 8-10 yards difference each kick off. That's the difference in 3 points and a punt.

Deon is hurt at this moment and I think Crosslin deserves a roster spot. I also saw more from Carpenter then anything I ever saw from McGee. I know Mcgee is here to stay, but it's wrong.

I would rather keep Cross then Ferris. I think he's had a great preseason. Tonight he reminded me of the dude from Baltimore last year that had one of those long runs against us.

BTW the backup Oline is not that bad.....See ya Procter...I thought the "Duke" had a pretty good game.

What do you think?

Yeah, man. Like cut 'em all man. Like, man, like, we should really keep Duke man, cuz he was like really good in all those movies man. Hold, hold on a sec...

And like Buehler, man, his name is all whacked out and not pronounced like right and stuff. Man, that is seriously uncool. You're all talking to him man and he's like, "that's not how you say my name man" and it all brings you down man. Hold on a sec...
cabf3de7-2732-41ed-903b-62f2dff03bc2.Large.gif

And like I know people are all like he can kick off and stuff, but really man, really, does it matter in the big scheme of like all things if a man can kick a football man? Does it really? Hold a sec...

I mean, one man can get more joy out of a mega sized bag of Doritos and his home girl bringing over like 5 steak burritos over some dude like getting all violent against a football man. Its like totally uncool.
