Should we switch to Brooks Bollinger?

I don't see how they couldn't at least give him a shot if Johnson doesn't come out playing hot next week.

He isn't accurate, he doesn't give the play a chance, and we cant get the ball down field at all.

Bollinger would have to be really erratic in practice or just not have any kind of grasp in the playbook for me not to give him an opportunity.

Sorry but it's true.

No mejito it's irrelevant.

He could play sand lot old school style and still get us an extra 4-5 1st downs, 2-3 TD's, and at least 1 conversion on 3rd and long. In fact, where is Joey Harrington, even that guy can put up 24 points in a game. You must be a masochist...

Last week he threw 3 INTs and had a fumble that we ended up recovering.

He's stellar.

And THIS week? 0 INT's and 0 fumbles. I don't like him as a starter either but the fact is, he showed improvement THIS week.

Um...one thing I would do if I were Phillips and were going to start Brooks would to be keep my mouth shut to the media about it. Let the Giants game plan for Brad all week long and then through Brooks in there....not sure it would work but it would be worth a shot...

Edit: Ah who am I kidding, Jerry is the one making this decision, so Jerry needs to keep his mouth shut....

I thought Bollinger had a noodle-arm?

We should start running the Wildcat formation made popular by Miami.
If BJ is just going to hand the ball off, they should just cut out the middle man and snap it straight to barber.

Maybe it should happen...

But we all know very well that the chances are VERY slim. Brad is our guy for now.

There are two negatives I see with bringing in Bollinger,

1) Brad has already had much more work with the starters

2) Brad is good at not turning the ball over...

Only reasons Brad stays in IMO...

Totally agreed. If Brooks is going to turn the ball over, and he will, I don't see us getting any better of a result. 2 lousy armed QB back ups. There was Culpepper, Kerry Collins and guys like Billy Volek that definitely could have been had for less than $1 million per season.

They like Brad because apparently he could be a good mentor to Tony during a Superbowl push. I just hope a miracle happens this week and Tony can get it together. Judging by our current injuries until after the bye week I don't know if any QB could rack us up a win next week so it might be best to not push Romo.

BJ is the only option to steer the bus until Romo comes back. Live with it.
Personally, I'd rather have Bartel out there, but he's not even on the team anymore.

I think putting Bollinger in there for 3rd down would be good, just so the defense actually respects the mid-range passes if not the deep ball. Heck, a little more respect for the deep ball would open up the check down for more yards.

A passing game that ends 10 yards from the line of scrimmage will not do it for the winning against the Giants. An improbable win would REQUIRE one or even two Special teams/defensive TD's.

Bollinger, part time or full time, would give the team a chance!

Brooks should only enter the game if Brad is sucking and it is completely on him (eg. Its not tipped balls getting intercepted). I think right now Brad gives us the best chance to win out of the 2 options. The same people saying start Brooks are probably the same people saying start Brad when Romo was playing his 300 yard 2 TD 1 int games...

I wouldn't say that. Alot of us thought Brad could drive the bus until Tony returns.
