Hey guys, Lets pretend as if Will McClay were the head coach of the dallas cowboys or any1 else for that matter and the dallas cowboys were 13-3 one year with homefield advantage and lost in the playoffs then followed that up with a 15-1 season and lost again in the playoffs. Would you think it would be best for the orginization to fire the headcoach of has he done well enough in the season for you to warrant to give him at least 1 more season? To be honest, I am not sure what I would want or do...I could easily understand both sides of the situation however, a part of me is leaning towards firing the head coach.

I'm not about to hire a coach that takes us to a 15-1 record even if they do lose in the playoffs. Not only would we be a laughingstock around the country but it also opens up the possibility that his replacement cannot guarantee a playoff win when he takes over and indeed there could be a slide and we end up with a 10-6 record, etc. Why don't you wait until we end up with a 13-3 record before asking us to address hypothetical questions. We ended up with a 9-7 record for pete's sake. Even if we had won that game, there certainly no guarantee we would have beat the Bears--not the way we played the last month of the season.

No where in my post did I mention anything about the loss to Seattle nor did I imply anything about it....and where are you assuming that I said we WOULD have beaten the bears? THe PURPOSE of the post was to make it a hypothetical situation because it is a REAL life situation with the Desperados but many people INCLUDING myself dont give a crap about them so wouldnt be able to form as strong of an opinion unless it were the cowboys who were in the situation...A la Avenging...

I hate to say this, but he's gotta go.

15-1 reg season record, and they lay an egg in the playoffs, at home.

Jerry Jr. has gotta be PO'd at the results.

People wanted to fire Mack Brown because no coach in college football did less with more talent. The amount of talent he had for 5 years up to finally winning it all ( and lets face it, it was more Vince Youngs individual acheivement more then anything mack brown did) he was not even able to win the important games that would get him to the NC game. Frankly, it looks to me that the only NC texas will get under Mack Brown is the one they have. they have underacheived every single year but one under him.

Yes, I think it is time for Will McCay to go! Give someone else a chance to bring an Arena Championship to Dallas. A proven winner like Danny White of the Utah Blaze.

AFL--remember........

I agree. Two kick-offs in a row that hit off of the pipe was the undoing of the Desperados. Bring on the game that's 100 yards in length and involves the 2007 edition of our 'Boys!! :star:

A 15-1 coach getting fired? I'd hate to be the guy replacing him. Talk about high expectations.......

He had 3 horrible breaks right in a row in last nights game. 2 totally unpredicatble bad kicks that banged off the pipes and got recovered by Columbus and then his RB fumbled going into the end zone. All this to start the third QTR.

He's not even the OC, Dolezel is. They also lost their #1 Offensive threat and top Defensive player in one shot when Pettis went down.

I would not fire a guy for things that were out of his control.

Also Pettis and Nash were out for considerable amount of time this season and they still went 15-1.

Unfortunately, you will have games like this from time to time and this one just happened in the Playoffs.

Not McClay's fault at all.

Actually the game is very exciting. It's just not "regualr" football.

Therefor, if you look at it for the game it is, and not try to compare the two, you may enjoy it more.

My first passion will always be traditional football, but this is a nice diversion in the off season.

Honestly, I like it more than I did the Europa league or that other version of football they play up in Canada.

No.

Geez, it's not like a top seeded Dallas team has never lost an opening round game/series to the lowest seeded playoff team in a conference.
