The season is on the line fellas. This game is for all the marbles really. The Cowboys have given away back to back games. A chance to gain firm control of the NFC East. They failed, but they still have a tremendous opportunity to regain control. To save their season. To give Romo a legit chance at doing this thing again. I fully expect the Cowboys to come out fired up for this game. They know this it right here. If you don't win this game you might as well Tony to stay out because it would be too big of an uphill battle to climb. He deserves an opportunity to go out there and lead this team back to the playoffs and win his first Super Bowl.

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming to town. As usual they're talking a bunch of junk. The offensive line needs to stand up, rise up, and dominate this football game. That's how we win. We haven't been able to dominate the Eagles at the line even last year when our OL was argurably the best in the league. They gotta get off the ball, get hats on hats, move people, control the game, control the clock, and re-establish a dominant ground game that has been absent for much of this season. The line is relatively healthy now so no excuses. The excuses as a whole need to stop. Romo ain't coming back for another three weeks. Nothing we can do about that except WIN. Just win one game. Find a way to win this football game. You have an Eagles team that has been every bit as abysmal offensively as Dallas. Sam Bradford has showed people why the Rams wanted to move on from him. He's not a good quarterback. He'll make a nice throw here and there, but for the most part he has been a liability for the Eagles. Despite having an array of good weapons and two solid backs.

It has been a tough stretch to say the least. It has been absolutely brutal to watch this offense struggle so mightily. It seems like just getting a first down, just getting a big play is a major grind for this team. Guys have to make plays. Despite the complaints about the scheme and I am one of them and I still don't like the scheme there have been players open. Dez was able to get open against Sherman last week at least a few times. Williams got open in the red zone. Beasley was open in the red zone and deep down the middle of the field on the last drive. Cassel you cannot play scared. You have to find that balance between being aggressive, but not making numbskull throws that don't have a prayer and not being too conservative. He's our quarterback for the time being. We need better play. This is a defense that has played better talking about the Eagles. They aren't Seattle. They're still susceptible to big plays. Dez will be closer to full strength this week. He can and will and needs to take advantage of Maxwell. Our best player needs to play like the superstar he is, but the QB has to find him as well.

Show up or show out Dallas. This is a winnable game. Despite the record, despite the time in the season. Garrett and Linehan DON'T PLAY OR COACHED SCARED. We have to play to win. We have to go and TAKE this game. Go TAKE IT. We can't play not to lose. That's not how you're gonna win especially with everything is on the line. I really don't know what the hell to expect. I really don't. I know we're playing against a team that we can clearly beat because they clearly aren't very good, but neither are we right. One more loss and it will have been the longest losing streak in 25 years. I wanna see this time come out GUNS BLAZING. Play with some pride. Are we gonna be that kind of team that is gonna make excuses for our ineptitude? That's not what great teams do and if we wanna be great and win a Super Bowl and that's clearly the ultimate goal go WIN this football game.

A lot of people will just say there's always next year, but I don't agree with that. We can't just throw this year away. The NFC as a whole looks very vulnerable right now. Green Bay just got destroyed by Denver and they've had a number of close games that they just squeaked out. Arizona has looked good, but they've had a pretty soft schedule so far. They go play Seattle. Good luck. Atlanta got off to a quick start and tailed off. Carolina is the one team that looks complete in all three phases, but I wonder how they will fair if they got up against a very explosive big play offense like ours if healthy and they play the Packers next. They don't have awhole lot of weapons on the offensive side, but they haven't needed it because of stellar defense. At any rate this conference is right there for the taking and if this team can go win tomorrow night and turn things around which a win could do and set the table for a long run with Romo coming back soon who knows? I don't think there's any reason this team can't contend still this season, but they have GOT to stop beating themselves. They've got to play a complete game. As awful as Cassel was and has been in two games for the most part against the Giants he showed he was capable of making some big time throws. He needs to put a complete game together and not have a flurry of turnovers. He's not facing the Seahawks defense this week. We know Philly likes to blitz and stunt and twist and things of that nature so we can use the screen game and some quick slants to get some big plays on this defense as well as some draw plays. They looked good against the Giants a few weeks ago, but to me that was about how pathetic the Giants were particually up front. The Saints stink on the road as we all know and their only other win was against the Jets.

We can ill afford to lose another division game and we can't just keep praying the Giants keep losing. At some point Dallas needs to win a football game. Go do it Cowboys. Like I said I don't know what to expect and I'm not predicting a win, but like every week I will be cheering my heart out because I love this team and I know they can be better. I know they can. We have yet to put a full game together this season and it's been seven games. At some point that has got to CHANGE.

GO DO IT. LET'S GO COWBOYS. :starspin:

Not trying to be a Debbie downer, but we are the 29th scoring offense in the league and depending on Garrett/Linehan to pull a rabbit out of a hat is extremely unlikely.

I will be cheering too, but it doesn't look good.

I realize that, but the Eagles haven't exactly been lighting it up either.

That gives me some glimmer of hope that we can win this game.

Also helps their best lineman is out.

We beat them down in Week 2 and Tony didn't even have his best game by any stretch of imagination. They aren't good. Kraken wasn't available either. This game is ours for the taking. We just have to take it. We don't even have to play that great. Just score a TD or two against a far inferior defense then we played last week and with the way our defense has played in recent weeks going up a guy who has turned it over quite a bit and we should emerge victorious.

We can win this game just like the others. Unless something changes I wouldn't count on it though. The Cowboys find new ways to lose each and every week. Just hope we're still in it in 3 weeks. Have to root for the Bucks tomorrow.

I just don't trust this team or coaches lost all the trust I had from last year unless cassel learns to play like a nfl qb and see thefield I don't think they win I think this team is so dependent on tony they don't know how to win on there own.

We'll still be in it even if we lose tomorrow night. It'll just mean the chances got even more remote.

And it is all on the players. Welcome to the NFL, where it's a players' league and always has been. Where guys like George Seifert and Barry Switzer can win championships and the key is assembling talent and keeping them on the field.

OP is right, though. This is the first game in I can't remember how long where we're not at a disadvantage at the QB position. We need a win, badly, and can ill afford a division loss. Win a game against a bad team here, and maybe another against another bad team next week and we'll be in a good position again for the post-Thanksgiving run. That's when the real playoff push starts.

again looking at it through statics not taking into account, other teams are motivated by this, other coaches know right where to target, you just arent getting it, you are looking through the fan side of things instead of saying 'oh yes, my team wont exploit, my team doesntt adjust" "im just hoping 1 win will spark fantasies"

Even if we do win, which is slim, it changes very little. Teams still stand up to play us. At a healthy team we didnt win with a statement, we got by. (wish i knew that poster that told me we were going to beat the giants because of oru record against them) many fans fail to realize this is divisonal game, so its harder than normal. and trust me teams wont play down to us, they will play to their best. we play down to our opponent. Not to mention once something starts working, well abandon it, we ll keep bad players at positions they have no business playing and we will not try anything out of the norm just for desperation, and on top of that, since we have been out of it, you would think we would be trying new players and figuring players out, nope, just hoping to get middle of the pack record for a mediocre team.

we have been mediocre for 20 plus years, and that record will go another year, and you know what, im not buying the injury excuse either. We are finding that out as we see it unfold before us.

I'm not looking at it as a fan. I'd make the same argument for any team in our situation, because teams really do play better with their starters in the lineup, and some teams really do go on winning streaks in the second half of the season all the time.

Nobody doesn't realize the Philadelphia Eagles are a division game. That doesn't make it 'harder than normal.' It just makes it more important. But both teams are playing under the same circumstances. It's not like only the Eagles are going to play hard because they're the only ones with the advantage of knowing which teams are in their division.

Trying new players and 'figuring player out' would be straight up ******** at this point in the season with the division up for grabs. What are you thinking?

You don't have to 'buy' the fact that injuries exist and that they're affecting the quality of play we're seeing from the Cowboys on the field. Honestly, for my part, it's getting to a point where, if a poster can't acknowledge that simple reality, I hardly care to debate it with them. I see how much better we're playing on defense with the starters in. I can see how much attention Dez gets from opposing defenses. I know that Tony Romo does not miss the open receivers Matt Cassel missed last weekend. I'm perfectly happy to just wait the two weeks at this point for Tony to get back (if we're unable to win one or two of the games between now and then). At that point, everybody who really does think we're losing games because of coaching right now (coaching!) can explain to us how it is that the coaching suddenly got so much better with all the players back in the lineup.

My guess? It's a mystery that some of us will just never be able to get to the bottom of. Some questions are just too difficult to answer, I guess.

This is all on Jason Garrett.

We are a man down at this point. Granted it's our best player, but teams all over the NFL have won ballgames without their best player.

Jason Garrett has to get this team ready and prepared to win a ballgame. Luckily for him, and us, we can still salvage our season at this point.

I agree. The game against the Eagles is win or go home.

Let's see how Garrett has this team ready to perform.

Just because you've seen teams win with backup QBs still does not mean that it's a high probability. Backups QBs have lost way more games than they've won over the years.

I've seen teams with no where near the talent we have win with back up quarterbacks.

Nobody said it was a high probability, but asking for one win in the last five with a backup is not too much to ask.

Going 0-5 without Tony Romo is unacceptable. Granted, we've had other injuries, but this team has not been prepared. Period.

:starspin:

Great post sir. 1000% agree. Excuse time is over. This is must win. Next week vs TB will not be easy either. So let's do,it now.
