Video Included in article.

Let's be serious for a moment here. And I have to kick the really over-the-top crazy Dallas Cowboys fans out of the room now so we can have a real conversation.

OK, good. Now ... what in the heck is going on in Dallas?

Look, you didn't see this coming, I didn't see this coming, nobody did. But now there's no getting around it: The Dallas Cowboys look good. They look great. Had Tony Romo not made some big Week 1 mistakes against the 49ers, they might be 4-0 with some quality wins. I just don't know how we got here....

10. Dallas Cowboys (3-1, LW: 20) On second thought, never mind about Marinelli for coach of the year. With the job he's doing, let's do Marinelli for President.

That's your Week 5 Power Rankings!

The Patriots and Saints were hammered, and their continual lackluster play means no more blind faith that they'll turn things around. Meanwhile, we're starting to get to the point in the season where the head-to-head matchups will mean less and less in this arena. The Bills beat the Bears in Week 1 ... yet, Chicago is ranked higher. The Vikings toppled the Falcons on Sunday ... yet, Atlanta is ranked higher. And so on. In those cases, a QB change and a QB ailment play a role. In other quarterback news ..

2014 NFL Power Rankings: Week 5

ESPN

Which 3-1 teams are for real? That was one of the biggest questions facing ESPN's Power Panel (a group of more than 80 writers, editors and TV personalities) this week.

With Seattle, Cincinnati and Denver entrenched in the top three thanks to Week 4 byes, the focus shifted to those within striking distance. Of the six teams at 3-1, San Diego owns the highest position (No. 5), followed by Philadelphia (No. 6) and Baltimore (No. 7). The lowest ranking among the 3-1 brigade belongs to Houston at No. 13.

I'm not big on the power ranking stuff good or bad. Nice to see people think Cowboys are pretty good team but in the end this is not college football so the rankings really mean nothing just a writers view

I don't believe any power ranking is accurate until the SB winner is crowned. And then it is the only two that played in that game that matters.

But here are some thoughts by others.

So many have issues with these because they say these folks are jaded and biased.

I have maintained, win and it will take care of itself. The press is secretly so ready to get on this bandwagon. And if they fall, the press will crucify them.

I think you need to be 10 games in minimum to know how the NFL is starting to pan out. And even then shakeups happen.

Dallas will lose some games along the way so please let's also keep that balance.

I personally don't put much stock into power rankings. Never have. But with that being said, it can still be interesting/entertaining to see how the various outlets' rankings evolve as the season progresses. I remember some of these having us ranked in the bottom 5 to start the year. Some predicted 3 wins all season. We may very well exceed that by week 5.

Let's hope we continue down the path we've been on these last couple weeks.
