If it only costs #22 and #28, I wouldn't be against that deal. I hope it isn't done because of the quality of running backs in this draft, but I wouldn't be against it.

speculation...id rather heve F. Jones @ 22

I want not part of F jones in the 1st. Between giving up those two picks and getting DMC or staying and getting Felix, I'll go DMC.

I hate to say that but Felix is that unimpressive at this point. Weak and slower then advertised.

I would much rather keep MBIII and get Ray Rice at 28 and one of the top CB's at 22.

I would trade up in the second to get one of the WR's. I don't really care much about the 5-7 picks at all. I would use them to move up in every round below five and get 5 quality guys instead.

That would be great for me. I saw this guy at the combine and he really could be amazing, anyway I´d take the risk.

Thanks.

I read it and cheered..

If it only takes the two 1st round picks, Jerry is duty-bound to roll the dice on McFadden.

He is? Is that in the official NFL Owner Handbook that he has to give up two first round picks, for a runningback, just because some fans want him to?

I doubt this, very seriously. I just don't see Jerry giving up even the 2 first rounders to move up and get DMac. Unless DMac slides to at least the 10 spot I don't see us getting him.

Getting McFadden while ignoring our CB issues would be a bad move when you have MBIII and could get another good back in the first.

If the draft falls that way I will be glad we had traded up.
Just about everyone I would target at 22 or 28 is gone:(

If he is available at 7, Jerry will go and get him, no doubt. And the result would likely be an unstoppable offense with top3 rush and pass play though it's ok for me.
On the other hand, the old "defense wins championship" wisdom is against this move.

The Barbarian is our starting RB. There's no need to use a 1st rounder to draft his backup. We can snag a good quality relief back in the 3rd and 4th rounds. There's lots of quality.

We're going to need WR, CB, and DT.

This would be the perfect scenario if DMF drops to somewhere in the 5-10 range of picks.

In fact, I don't doubt that Jones already has several trade proposals already submitted to any of those teams for his 2 #1's to move up.

That's just a situation tailor-maid for pulling the trigger on such a deal.

But I don't doubt that there will be a couple of teams that might want to pull Jones' chain on such a situation, asking for something else to sweeten a deal.

Like a player or another draft pick.

And I think this could be very probable. Seeing how the Patriots lost their other #1 pick due to Spygate, they probably would want to trade out of such a spot if only for the cap consideration it would impose on them to stay at #7 pick.

And then re-acquire another #1 pick that would be better than the one they lost.

This whole concept has a win-win scenario that teams are looking for on draft day to maximize what they are doing in their strategies.

And the Pats aren't interested in a RB as they have Maroonie, the bookend to our MBIII.

So we'll see. Very interesting mock scenario.

I guess that really depends on your view of MBIII. I kind of think that if you give him 20 carries a game, by the end of the season there won't be much left in the tank with the way he runs. And..... if there is an injury I want Ray Rice, not a quality backup.
