Because of the irrational Tom Brady love I have to ask. Is Wentz 1 or 2?

They must think Witten has slipped. Zack Martin sounds a little low. Tyron Smith Just hitting his prime.

Like I have stated. Love Witten. Love everything he has stood for. Love how he has represented the Cowboys on and off the field. But his snaps need to be reduced. I guess SI agrees as well. I will bravely accept the darts that will be aimed at me now.

Martin is very low.

I don't think Jackson is playing at the level Martin was as a rookie and while Turner is good, Martin is still better.

I don't think you can justify arguing that Witten is a top 100 player anymore.

He simply is not capable of making explosive plays. No shame in that. Gonzalez was the same way. He could make a defense slow bleed, but for a TE to be Top 100, they need to be pushing Gronkowski-level.

But the other responsibilities cannot be discarded. Witten is still a premier blocker. Those that can do both are becoming ever more a rarity.

Oh I agree, apparently that hasnt slipped by the national media. I think Lee's rating is the most surprising to me.

He is a very good blocker for a receiving TE. One of the best.

"Premier" run blocking TEs are a rarity. When you see them they look more like OTs than TEs.
At the end of the day...Jason Witten is still a very good player. But he is not nearly what he once was as a receiver or blocker....the problem is..the organization still treats him that way...and that's why 3 2nd round picks here have never had a chance to take snaps from him. And that is shortsighted and stupid!

Tony Romo is the cowboys best player.

Guy gets no respect. Nationally, locally or by the teams own fans.

Even after the whole organization goes in the tank without him, people still do not respect how good the guy is.

oh well.

At 36, Romo’s glory days (2007-2013) are likely behind him.

So the cutoff was 2013?
I just saw that too. I guess his MVP year in 2014 went under the radar. Not surprising. The only way Romo gets rid of all of this talk is if he wins a superbowl. Even then, it would be, it wasnt him it was the line, or it was Zeke not Romo, or any of the above to discredit anything good Romo does. Its sickening. All from a bobbled snap.

You have to wonder how somebody could write that 2013 was a "glory year" and 2014 wasn't, then you have to wonder how it got past whoever did the editing. Writing for SI used to mean you'd reached the pinnacle of sports journalism. I don't know if such a thing as sports journalism even exists anymore.
