or Floyd Womack

or Sean Mahan

give Columbo the big contract, and get one of those 3 to play RG, cheaper than Davis would cost

why should we give in to anyones demands. None of the available players are anything more than just good guys. There are no great players floating around.

I am dissapointed in columbo. I understand he has to make as much as he can, but Dallas paid him for a year to lift weights and get ready for the next season, no one else was willing to pay him to do that. I thought he would be good to the organization and he still might, dissapointed he didnt sign already.

Outside of him I would stay away from anyone that starts talking big numbers because none of them are worth it.

We have 10 draft picks and people always get cut later, it would be crazy to overpay for davis.

It isn't a demand so much as market value. The cap went up, so salaries are going way up. 4-5 mill a year is simply what a decent starting OL guy gets now.

So the 350k or so he earned that year should make him take a deal that ends up paying 8-10 million less?

No, he deserves market value, but if he is holding out for more than that I find that dissapointing. I dont blame him because this is his one shot at that cash and what everyone would do.

But from the injury risk and cap perspective I wouldnt get into those big numbers with him.

I like the guy. I want him back. I hope they sign him. They cant give him a a ton though because he is a risky player.

again, I want them to sign him. I wish he wouldnt go to other teams to drive the price up though, the cowboys gave him an opportunity.

Tell me, how exactly do you determine market value?

To me, that means getting offers from interested teams. That's what you are worth. That's market value. He's getting those offers now -- the only way I'm unhappy is if he doesn't allow Dallas a chance to match.

market value is what players are getting at the same position on other teams. One tackle was signed today to set the starting point in jax.

I just wished he would have worked out something without involving other teams.

If he is just looking for a payday and doesnt want to be part of this team then I understand completely, he will go around till someone unloads the armoured truck. ANd that is fine too.

I liked the guy and hoped he would be back, so if he wants that big contract he will have to get it somewhere else.

That is why I am glad we have few openings on this roster and 10 picks in april.

You can't set market value without that.

His agent said he was visiting Miami, Seattle, Baltimore and Houston, no mention of Dallas.
