Signing players early!

They need more. Hence, don't overpay on day one of FA.
Hard disagree. Go get a couple guys who can actually play and then look for some upside bargain bin players. No more jack sanborns, Kenneth Murray’s and Kaiir elams to save the day.

All 4 conference championship teams were top half of the league in free agent spending this past offseason. Both superbowl teams spent in the top 4 this past offseason. Of the bottom 7 teams in free agency spending just 1 made the playoffs, philly, who has spent frivolously in previous seasons. The other 6 were all arguably getting worse than they were the year prior. There is a massive correlation between FA spend and winning.

Not defending the Jones family by any means (definitely not in fact) but you act like the only side deciding when to sign someone is the Cowboys when that's not true at all.

If a player thinks they are worth $10 million per year and Jerry offers $8 million, that player and his agent are going to keep talking to teams trying for more money. The same would be true even if he offered $10 or $12 million.

Why? Because players and their agents are out to get the highest contract they can so the longer they wait (at least the in-demand players) the more they will likely make.

I always find it funny when fans get mad at teams for not signing players fast enough when they know very well if they went to buy a car and the dealer wanted to charge them $5k more than they wanted to pay for it they would hold off buying it as well.

If Parsons had accepted Jerry's offer last year, he would still be on the Cowboys. Jerry was ready to sign him to an extension. Parsons and his agent though held out because he wanted more money. Neither side was right or wrong, just focused on their best interests.

The only way to sign players quickly is to 1) vastly overpay them and make your team suffer in other areas due to cap limitations or 2) make offers to players few teams want to sign.
Well said....and true

This will fall on deaf ears. They won’t get Pickens signed and will end up tagging him, causing a rift between Pickens’s camp and the Cowboys.

They should take care of this now so they can focus on other free agents, especially adding to the defense.
I don’t see how they get him done in time.
Nope, long snapper first, LOL
hope they do. He’s good

Can the Jones please get players signed quickly and not draw it out ! Just one year with quick signings, PLEASE !
If rumors are true we are talking to Williams. I don’t see a deal with Pickens getting done in 35 or so days. I’m sure he will get tagged

I don't want Jerry overpaying like he did osa. If Williams wants too much, let him walk. Pickens should be offered a team friendly deal if he don't accept he gets tagged, but I'd let his age t shop him around too. But you can't simply give either market setting deals. We have others that need to be paid.

......and miss out on the extensive media coverage talking about it ad nauseum?

He has been on a team friendly deal for four years. How many more team friendly deals should he agree to?

Prepare to be disappointed ........ like last year when the team fell apart.

College teams have the framework for NIL deals in place 2-3 months before players ever end the season with other teams but Jerry often can't even discuss a deal til the window is open lol.

I'm not giving him a max deal, or max aav deal. I'd rather let him play on the tag, but I would offer somewhere around 30 but with an out after 2 years. Or he can go someplace else as long as we get a good trade package. What I wouldn't do is pay him 35+ or let him go for a 3rd. I do prefer giving him options and sticking to it, this is what were willing to pay or you get tagged or you can be traded but here it is.
