Melton has picked up his game. He's at 5 sacks for the year, with 7 games left. I think he's on the roster next year. What say you?
He's going to cost us $9 mil next year. Don't expect him to be back.
If he plays like he's played the last two games, he's staying.
I hope they negotiate a better deal. He needs to stay he has talent and you don't let that walk away and create another hole. I'm sure they will restructure and give him a bonus he's still young
Problem is if he ends up with 10 sacks he WILL be worth $9m+.
It's a good problem, however, when you also consider Dez, Murray, and Rolando McClain's deals are ALL up at the end of the season you wonder how they are going to pull it all off.

I don't know and that's why I don't work in the front office. But I'm sure Dallas will figure something out. I don't see them letting good talent on a talent starved defense walk.
5 sacks through 9 games at his position is incredible. And that's coming off a serious injury. And limited snaps.
If they think 9 mil is too much, he'll get that from someone else with the way he's looked.
Hey, at least we're saving money on the backup QB. $200K for Weeden is a sweet discount.
Not with our cap situation.
Unfortunately you can't sign everyone. My working assumption is that they will sign Dez AND Murray to next big money contracts and that with that the majority of the team's cap will be dedicated to the offense with big money deals for Romo, Tyron Smith, Dez, and Murray.
I suspect they'll be able to create some room by cutting Carr.
Is our cap situation bad next season?
