He's going to cost us $9 mil next year. Don't expect him to be back.
Who will replace him?

200K ?
Weeden's salary is 570K.
The difference between his salary and what Orton was scheduled to make is about 3M.
He's getting better in the past couple of games, but he's not a 9M per year player yet.

Is our cap situation bad next season?
You can really see him returning to form.
He's becoming an impact player on a defensive line completely devoid of anything close to that.
I honestly think they let both of them try their hands at free agency and see that the market isn't what they were expecting. Especially Murray, but even Dez... when the GM is pissed at a player... they aren't likely to give that player a huge contract.
Melton has picked up his game. He's at 5 sacks for the year, with 7 games left. I think he's on the roster next year. What say you?
Situation continues to bear watching. Until the past few games, Crawford was outplaying him at the position, but we all knew Melton wasn't 100 percent. The past couple of games, he's made Crawford look like a very solid backup but not on the same level. If he keeps doing that, Dallas will find a way to keep him.
