Bill doesn't want to coach forever... we all know that. And anyone with any sense realized that whatever is wrong with us is more than a 1 year fix. Trust me, Bill sees this too. Bill even told us that he didn't know what was wrong with the team. Add all that up and though Bill won't want to leave us like this (I still think he is a classy guy) he will realize that he doesn't have the committment to put in the time that this project will need. So long Bill. Best wishes.

Let's hope you are correct.

Right on. He's out, I have a strong gut feeling: Nice try, but $16 mil Jones paid him didn't get us even 1 playoff win: pretty weak

It is weak - he's had essentially total control. The ship isn't sinking, but the anchor is stuck.

Question is. With 5 openings in the NFL (maybe more). WHO do you want to be your next coach? And, are you willing to have your Offense and Defense changed again?

Sean Payton would be nice.

Oops.

Hindsight is 20/20 it seems.

Well, what Payton did with the Saints was nothing short of amazing. Hear Jets fans whine that their coach was shafted over Coach of the Year is just lame.

At least you guys have the most attractive gig if the Tuna leave. It would be the Steelers but you know they'll go with Whitehurst or Grimm. They're just TOO stable to go outside of the Org.

The problem is that this team is weak emotionally. The players do not take losing well. There doesn't seem to be any bounce back. Every year, there is a demoralizing loss that the team never recovers from. Last year, it was the Washington Game. Both of them. This year, it was the Saints game. We never were the same. We need counseling bad.

I think it will be a former NFL HC. The pieces are already here and a coach/coordinator change might be the only thing we need. ANy new/young guy would just re-vamp the whole thing and set us back for several years.

So, my guess is Jimmy Johnson.

i hope this loss stings enough to make bill realize he's taken this club as far as he can with this regime.

with the finish we had, we need a total overhaul in coaching staff, just to readjust expectations at all levels. we can't win 1-2 point games, especially in the cold and wet consistently. tuna should know this, having benefited from Norwood wide right.
