i dont follow college football to closely but i like to read up on players and watch a few games if they catch my eye. its fun for me, its the offseason with the cowboys not playing and i get a bit bored.... also im trying to list players that we have a chance at... no calvin johnson no jemarcus russel etc.

so ill throw out some names and i want you to say what you think about them, where they will go and how they would fit in the cowboys offense or defense.

What on earth does having a ND player in his sig have to do with not liking Julius?

I hope we grab Jeff Ballard in rd 4.

The kid is a winner. He would be a great backup to romo, and in a few years compete with him for the starting job. Although he wont ever win the job, if Romo goes down Ballard could come in and contribute

I'm in the camp that now believes you should draft a QB every year. I like Kevin Kolb of Houston. Yeah, he ran a run-n-shoot, but let him sit like Romo did, and I think he could develop.

Rb-i know our oline sucks, but as many of you know i dont like julius.

A guy like Michael Bush is interesting. He was a sure-fire first round pick before his injury. It looks like he'll drop to the second, or even the third round.

Justin Vincent also interests me later in the draft. He was a big-time recuit for LSU...was a big time frosh...but fought injuries and a crowded backfield. I wonder if he can be a Terrell Davis type. Showed potential in college, but never really panned out.

WR-glenn and T.O. are obviously old but hurd and crayton look promising.

I like Bowe too. I really think our WR situation is ok. It'd be nice to really have a young "Star" there.

For the record, I think Austin has more potential than both Hurd and Crayton.

Oline-our oline is pretty sad, thats all i can say :bang2:

I don't know that our OL is sad. There's definite room for improvement. Flozell played much better over the last month. I hope we can resign Columbo. I like McQuistan's potential.

I think Gurode had a pretty good year. I'd like to see him return.

OG, is pretty weak....especially Rivera. I would LOVE to see us upgrade there.

Blalock from Texas is one of my favorites. Although, teams usually don't like to take OGs early.

Dline-we need more pressure
jamal anderson-DE-ark
amobi okoye-DT-louisville

I like both guys. Anderson will more than likely be long gone. Okoye is interesting. Although, I have no idea how he would fit into a 34 (gosh, I hate the 3-4).

Adam Carriker of Nebraska would be a good fit in our defense. He's big (6-5 290), and fast.

Moses of UGA, and Moss of UFA could be around when we draft in the first, they would provide good pressure.

I like Woodley too.

Cb-i believe in newman and want to believe in henry, were missing something though.

This is a good year to need help in the secondary. There should be some folks available in FA and the draft.

From the sounds of things, Henry will move to FS. I think this is his natural position anyway.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out the signings of Henry and Rivera. Both guys are decent, but neither really deserved the contracts they got. I was hoping we'd sign Lucas or Baxter (although Baxter's been injured), and Wahle for OG. Those guys didnt' really get that much more than the guys we signed. Just like the Vinateri deal this year.....why in the world did we pass on signing him to sign Vanderjagt?

It's not that JJ is afraid to spend money, it's just that he's spending money on the wrong guys.

Yeah, Julius played at ND. So?

Apparently, if you don't like a player from a certain school, you are thereby forbidden to like any other players from that school, EVER.

What's your beef about JJ? Are you a ND fan or just an Abiamiri fan? Just curious.

I dunno, JJ looked pretty good in the Seattle game. It was Barber who looked like the stiff for a change.

yup one good game and the kid is back to being a decent back.
A whole year of pile hunting but one game where he shows up is enough to say he is a good player.

carp had a couple solid showings, basically anytime he got a lot of playing time he looked good. and he didn't even play that much until december started anyways.

One game? He had a 1000+ yard season. He had some games where he didnt do much but he stayed healthy all season and had to split carries. Jones does pile hunt sometimes but he isn't as bad as you're making him sound.
